JENNIE'S POV

That night, I couldn't think about anything other than Lisa. She has this enchanting aura around her, something magnetic that keeps drawing me in.

It's not just because she's beautiful and mysterious, it's because I feel like there's something she isn't showing the rest of the world.

Ever since freshman year, she has always been the definition of cool and collected. I don't think I've ever seen her show sadness, worry, or even fear. Honestly, I don't think I've ever even seen her truly happy.

There has to be something more to her than meets the eye. But what are the chances that I'd ever be the one to figure her out?

And yet... I want to. I want to know everything about her. I want to know her hopes, her dreams, and what she secretly loves when no one's watching.

I want to see her open up to feel like she doesn't always have to be on guard.

I don't know what it is about her that drives me so insane.

Maybe it's the way she stares so intense when she's trying to figure something out. That look leaves me breathless, especially when her eyebrows narrow and her brown eyes seem to darken into a deeper, almost dangerous shade.

Or maybe it's when she teases youwhen she smirks in that sexy way, as if she knows exactly what's going on in your head.

Or maybe it's her infamous half-smile, the one that makes you feel like you're the most important person in the entire world.

And her style? Don't get me started. The way she dresses is so effortlessly edgy and unique. She almost never wears shorts or skirts, and I think I've only ever seen her wear a dress once and she looked incredible in it.

Usually, she sticks to her signature look: denim or leather jackets. It's like her armor, part of the image she carries so confidently.

Wow... I never realized how much I've paid attention to her. Every detail. Every little thing.

I guess I've always admired her. Lisa's always been someone who fights against injustice, no matter the cost.

I remember once she got suspended for punching a boy who had been bullying a younger girl for months. Lisa didn't care about the punishment, she cared about protecting someone who couldn't defend themselves. That's who she is. That's Lisa.

She's the kind of person no one dares mess with.

I think the reason why I like Lisa so much more than anyone else is because she doesn't try to be perfect. She knows she's flawed, but she never lets that stop her from living exactly how she wants to.

Unlike me.

Me, with all my insecurities.

I'm too shy. Too awkward. Too much of a nervous wreck. I'm always afraid.

I'm not pretty enough. I don't dress well enough. I'm not brave enough.

I'm nothing like Lisa.

And maybe... that's why I want her even more.

LISA'S POV

For some stupid reason, I can't stop thinking about Jennie. And I hate it.

This girl deserves the world.

She deserves better than anyone in this school, and I swear, I'm ready to knock out anyone who even thinks about disrespecting her.

She's just too good for this place. And I don't mean the fake, innocent "too good." I mean she's genuinely better than most people I've met.

And I'm saying this after years of noticing her.

We've gone to the same high school for four years. Of course, I've seen her. Of course, I've paid attention.

I admire how intelligent she is and yet, she doesn't brag about it like other kids do. She's humble, almost to a fault.

I like that she doesn't chase attention. She doesn't crave the spotlight. She'd rather the attention be on something important instead of on herself.

She's also such an awkward person but I like that too. She's real. She tells the truth. She doesn't try to sugarcoat things or manipulate people.

She knows she's a terrible liar, so she doesn't even try. And I respect that more than I can explain.

And one of the best things? Her dorkiness.

God, the way she can be a complete dork sometimes it's charming. It keeps me interested. It keeps me wanting to see what she'll do next.

There's so much more to her than people realize, but sometimes she makes herself so small.

I wish I could help her see what I see. I wish I could make her realize how much more important she is than she thinks.

Damn it. See what I mean? She's driving me insane.

She's beautiful. Her hazel eyes sparkle with this warmth, this light.

I want to run my hands through her hair. I want to pull her close, hold her tight, and never let go.

Wait...Did I just think about hugging her like that?

Oh no. Oh hell no.

I need to stop this. Right now.
