JENNIE'S POV
Lisa and I spend the next few hours just cuddling.
Who knew staying home could be so wonderful?
Lisa is such a kind and caring person, but she loves to put up walls, almost like a shield, to stop people from getting too close.
Probably because she's been hurt time after time. But I want to help her break those walls down, brick by brick. I want her to feel safe with me.
I love her, and I want her to finally experience what real love is.
After a while, I hear my parents come home, and I carefully untangle myself from Lisa's arms to get up.
"My parents are going to start working on dinner now. Do you want me to bring food up, or...?" I ask softly.
"Don't worry, love. I'll go out and get food, and I'll come back later," Lisa replies, standing up beside me.
"Okay, but now we need to figure out how you're going to get out of the house," I say, already stressing about it.
Lisa points toward the window leading to the balcony.
"No! One of these days you will get hurt!" I warn her, glaring.
"That won't be today. Don't worry," she answers with a big, mischievous smile.
Before I can argue, Lisa leans down to give me a quick peck, then dashes toward the balcony like it's nothing. She begins maneuvering her way over the railing toward the tree.
"God, her recklessness scares me so much," I whisper softly, clutching my chest.
I watch her disappear into the branches before heading downstairs to help my parents with dinner.
"How are you feeling now, sweetie?" Dad asks, walking over to give me a hug.
"Better. I don't think I'm sick, I'm fine now," I reply happily.
"Okay, good. Now you can help me cut these carrots," Mom says, handing me a knife.
I walk into the kitchen and start on the carrots. Everything is going fine until I nearly cut my finger.
"Oh god, Jen, watch your fingers!" Mom says worriedly.
"Maybe it's best if I finish cutting the carrots," Dad suggests, taking the knife from me before I lose one.
After a while, we finish making salad and breaded chicken and finally sit at the table to eat.
Dad starts telling us stories about the crazy and hilarious things his coworkers do at work, while Mom explains her new commercial plan and asks for our opinions.
Then, of course, my parents shift the conversation to Jisoo and Lisa.
I grin and say, "Jisoo has a crush on a girl, and she tries to drop the poor girl so many hints, but she just won't get it. It's pretty funny."
"That poor Jisoo is steps ahead of that young girl. Tell Jisoo it'll take her a long time to figure it out," Dad says, laughing.
"And how are things with Lisa?" Dad suddenly asks, making me choke on my drink.
"Things are going good between them," Mom replies, making me whine.
"Oh really? What did I miss?" Dad asks, turning to Mom.
"You see, Jennie told Lisa that she likes her," Mom explains casually.
"You guys, I'm right here!" I whine again, but laugh a second later.
"So... does this mean you two are together now?" both Dad and Mom ask, their eyes full of anticipation.
"Yes. She's my girlfriend now," I reply, cheeks heating up but smiling brightly.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you, sweetie!" Mom beams.
"I like Lisa. She's a good one. I can tell how much livelier you get around her," Dad adds.
"She's amazing," I admit, smiling down at my plate.
"Aww, someone is head over heels," Dad teases.
Mom reaches over and touches my hand. "I'm so glad you're in a good and healthy relationship now. You'll finally know what it's like to love someone and have them love you back."
"Yeah, you're right. I guess I still have a lot to learn in my new relationship with Lisa.
When I was with Irene, I had a huge miscommunication about what a relationship was even supposed to be like," I explain softly.
"I know, honey. I'm so sorry you got so hurt by her. But remember, Lisa is nothing like her. Lisa's a very nice girl," Dad says warmly.
"Yeah, I agree," I nod, right before a loud thud echoes from upstairs.
Shit.
"What was that?" Mom and Dad ask in unison.
"Umm, probably something fell," I stammer.
"Maybe I should go check it out," Dad says, standing up.
I panic instantly it was definitely Lisa falling into my room.
"My hydro flask probably fell off my desk! I'm done with dinner, so I'll just go up and clean the mess!" I blurt out, practically sprinting upstairs.
When I open my door, I see Lisa face-first on the ground, groaning.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay, Lisayah?" I rush to her side and help her up.
"Yeah... I would have made it to your room safely, but I tripped over your school binder over there," she mutters, pointing to the binder I left on the floor earlier.
"Yikes, I'm sorry," I apologize shyly, biting my lip.
"It's okay. At least I'm in your arms that's the only thing that matters to me," she says with a smirk.
"Wow," I deadpan and promptly drop her from my hands.
Lisa plops to the ground again and bursts out laughing. "I should sue you for carelessly leaving your things everywhere!"
"It's your fault for not paying more attention," I shoot back.
"Says the infamous klutz," Lisa teases.
I roll my eyes. "You're so annoying sometimes."
Lisa gasps dramatically. "Take that back!"
"Make me," I smirk, crossing my arms.
"Okay," Lisa grins before suddenly jumping on me, pushing me down onto the bed, and pinning my arms above my head.
"Take it back," she says, her face hovering dangerously close to mine.
"Never," I reply stubbornly.
Lisa smiles, then glances at my lips before leaning in to kiss me.
I immediately wrap my arms around her neck and pull her closer, deepening the kiss as my heart races.
