JENNIE'S POV
"I take that you're not stupid remark back, you are so stupid," Lisa said from inside the closet.
I walked over and opened the closet door, only to find Lisa smirking at me with that mischievous look on her face.
"At least you got out of going to school," she teased.
"Oh no, that was not on purpose! Oh no, I'm going to miss class, and I'm going to miss lectures, and I'm going to start getting behind," I said, panicking as the weight of it hit me.
Lisa chuckled and reached out, grabbing my shoulders and gently forcing me to look at her.
"Hey, calm down. It's going to be okay. You're already the smartest kid in all your classes. Ditching one day isn't going to ruin your grades."
"Okay, okay... but you better get ready for school though," I said firmly.
"Why would I get ready for school? I'm not going," she replied innocently, shrugging like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"What do you mean you're not going? You have to!" I replied in disbelief, staring at her like she'd lost her mind.
"If you're not going to school, then neither am I. Who knew you were such a bad influence," Lisa said, giggling slightly.
"Then what are we going to do?" I asked, still stunned.
"Anything we want, duh," she replied casually.
I stared at her blankly.
"You've never ditched school before, have you?" she added, smirking.
"Never. Why would I ever?" I asked honestly.
Lisa rolled her eyes at me. "Never mind... let's just get in your bathroom."
"Why would we go to my bathroom?" I asked, bewildered.
"Because, stupid, you just told your mom you were going to take a shower. So now we actually have to go into your bathroom and turn on the shower so she believes it," Lisa explained patiently, and I made an ohhh face.
"God, you're a lost cause," Lisa teased as we entered the bathroom and shut the door behind us.
I turned on the shower and then looked at her nervously.
"What now?" I asked.
"We wait here until your parents leave," she replied, laughing at how ridiculous the situation was.
"So... what do you want to do today? Since you made us ditch, you get to decide where we go," she told me. I scorned her immediately, glaring at how she was trying to blame me for us not going to school.
Before I could respond, I heard my mom enter my room and walk toward the bathroom.
"Sweetie, I ran out of toothpaste. I need to borrow yours quick."
"Oh no, what do we do?" I whispered to Lisa, panicking.
My mom started unlocking the door, and in a flash, Lisa pushed us into the shower and yanked the curtain closed just as my mom walked in.
My shower was a little small, so I found myself pressed up against the cold tiles as Lisa stood in front of me, her arms on the wall, holding herself steady.
My mom began brushing her teeth in my sink while Lisa and I stood there, getting absolutely soaked under the steaming water.
Thank god I had set the water to hot instead of cold otherwise we'd be freezing right now.
