LISA'S POV
When we got to the restaurant, I carefully took the blindfold off of Jennie, and she immediately looked around with wide, curious eyes.
"Are we having a fancy dinner here?" She asked, her voice filled with surprise.
"Yes! And don't worry, they have the best desserts here," I said, smiling at her unbelievably happy face.
"How did you know I was going to ask?" She asked again, tilting her head.
"I know you have a sweet tooth, stupid," I replied while getting out of the car.
Jennie quickly gets out before I can open the door for her.
"Oh, sorry! Did I stop you from being chivalrous?" She teases with a smirk.
"Yes," I mumbled, making Jennie laugh at me.
"Don't worry, I know you are my knight in shining armor. But don't forget I am a knight too," she said, grabbing my hand to intertwine our fingers.
"You? A knight? You can't even properly hold a knife to cut a carrot."
"That was one time. Come on! You need to get over that," she groaned, rolling her eyes.
"How can I? You almost chopped off your finger," I replied, laughing at the memory.
Jennie playfully punches me on the arm but then joins in on the laughter.
We head inside the restaurant, and I tell the host about our reservation. She smiles politely, leads us to our table, and Jennie and I sit down.
We ask for water while we observe the menu.
"Holy crap! There are so many choices!" Jennie said happily, her face lighting up like a little kid in a candy store.
"This is going to take us a while," I replied, flipping through the menu pages with a grin.
CHITTHIP'S POV
I'm driving like a complete maniac. I know it, but I'm not bothered to slow down, I can't. I need to find Lisa.
I need to tell her about the money if it's the last thing I do.
I know I won the shittiest mom of the year award. I know it, and I deserve it.
The least I can do for Lisa is tell her about the money.
So I continue driving fast until I finally make it to Jennie's address.
I park horribly in the driveway and don't even turn off my car before I'm dashing across the lawn, pounding on the door with frantic fists.
Jennie's parents open the door and look at me strangely. They look kind of scared.
I understand them.
Who wouldn't be scared when some crazy lady starts pounding on your door?
"I need to talk to Lisaa!" I shout, my voice breaking.
The father answers first.
"Umm, who's asking for her?"
"Her mother," I replied without hesitation.
"Ohh, it's nice to finally meet you," Jennie's mom said softly.
"Nice to meet you too. Can I please talk to Lisa? It's very important," I pleaded desperately.
"Sorry, she's not here. She went out with Jennie to the Pyeongyang Myeonok restaurant," Jennie's father answered.
"Okay! Thank you!" I shouted before running back to my car.
