4 Years Later

LISA'S POV

I walk into the bedroom and glance over at Jennie; she's standing in front of the mirror, carefully trying to put on just a minimal amount of makeup.

Her reflection glows under the soft morning light, and I can't help but admire how effortlessly stunning she looks.

I walk over to her, gently place my hands around her waist, and lean my head against her back, inhaling the sweet scent of her perfume.

"Hey love, you know you should start changing or we might be late," she says, her tone a mix of warning and affection.

Instead of answering right away, I lean my head back slightly and begin pressing soft kisses along her neck.

"Or," I whisper playfully, "we could skip the whole thing and have fun instead. You look breathtaking."

Jennie chuckles, putting down her makeup brush, and turns around to face me. She wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me closer until our noses nearly touch.

"Not happening, Lalisa. I am not going to skip my college graduation just because someone's a bit horny."

"Not a bit, very," I tease with a smirk before stealing a quick kiss.

Jennie smiles into the kiss, and when I pull back to look at her, my chest tightens. She looks so beautiful, so radiant, that my heart can hardly take it.

Even after over four years with this girl, I still feel like the luckiest person alive to call her mine.

Jennie grabs the top of my shirt and tugs me forward, her voice dropping low as she says sexily, "Don't worry, love. We will have a lot of fun later." She winks mischievously before pulling me in for a lingering kiss.

"Now go change so we can leave," she adds, giving me a gentle push toward the closet.

I listen to her, scanning the row of dresses, but stop when something familiar catches my eye. Hanging quietly on a side hook is an old shirt. I take it off the hanger and realize, it's the shirt I stole from Jennie years ago, back when we were first getting to know each other.

Wow. This must be a sign, it has to be.

As stupid and corny as it sounds, I know in my heart the universe wants us to be together. And I can't argue with the universe, especially not today. After all, I have a small box hidden in my backpack, waiting for the right moment.

Today is the day.

I'm going to propose to my girl.

God, why am I getting so flustered all of a sudden? I should be calm and collected, but instead, my stomach is doing somersaults and my hands feel shaky.

"Love, we need to leave soon!" Jennie yells from the bathroom.

I quickly put the shirt back, grab a dress, and slip it on. Then I rush into the bathroom to fix my hair and do a little makeup before following Jennie out to the car.

We leave the apartment we've been living in for the last two years. Before that, we lived in two other apartments together. When college started, neither of us could bear to be apart, and since we were already so used to living together, it was a no-brainer.

We make it to the stadium where the graduation ceremony is being held, and Jennie and I part ways to find our assigned seats.

As excited as I am to finally graduate, it doesn't even compare to the anticipation bubbling inside me at the thought of Jennie becoming my fiancée.
