Our love was a stoplight
Against an intersection
Where strangers meet
In reckless love reaction. As the lights turned green,
The key in ignition,
With racing adrenaline,
You put us in motion. We run with headlights
Faint from our broken hearts,
Barely illuminating
The road from where we'd start.A hundred kilometers
Per heartbeat, you drive
To places only we know
Let's go run and hide.Icy winds slice through
Long drives and midnights
All the moments we shared
Under flickering streetlights. But yellow calls wait!
You're driving too fast
Let us stop for a second
No need for us to rush.Yet you drove relentless,
And led us to a dead end
Too late to pull the breaks
I reach out for your hand. Then we lay, our bodies
On the asphalt spilling red.
What accident has happened
On this love, now almost dead.
