The Party

Blinding smoke and laser lights,
Atmosphere drenched with people.
I stand by the corner, out of sight,
Feet tapping by the beat and treble

Rubbing my hands shivering cold,
Under my breath now running short.
Sweat-soaked bodies dancing bold,
Why did I even come to this court?

You enter the scene in gallant sways,
Radiating a smile with frolic dense.
And though yet you are far away,
I could sense your majestic presence.

I do not even know your name
But my lips are missing your kiss,
My body yearns for your flame,
And my heart throb with bliss

Then your eyes lock with my gaze,
For a second there's only you and me.
All happiness replaced by a daze
On your face, a familiar curiosity.

Striding now, forward to my direction
I can't feel the coldness anymore.
Your stare transfixed without intention,
As distance between us is far no more.

But a voice came breaking our trance,
You brushed me off your mind.
I fall shy, my feelings and my glance,
As she came to hug you from behind.

Her red sparkling dress and your hands,
Gripping around her body tight.
You gave her a kiss as she bends,
With the music and dancing lights.

Maybe it's really time to go,
I wished I had not come to this place.
Walking past you, my head low,
I take a last glance on your face.

And I wish I had not done it
For my vision was met by yours.
Now I need to force my cold feet
To walk away and close the doors.
