Her classmates were gossiping their way into adolescence, literally and figuratively.

My first thought about seeing Hati was that I must be seeing things and the second is what the fuck she's doing here, then everything became more jaw-dropping as things unfold along with the scenes of the first meeting between two women who felt like they know each other for years and how things would eventually change for me.
Well, let's go back to three hours before everything turns crazy like the movies.
College was exhausting, I never thought that I wanted to return to elementary again after becoming a college student, it was that hard. Memorization was a skill everyone wanted to attain, understanding feels like contemplating two correct answers and thinking which is more right while sleep has become a luxury for us college students.
"You look tired" Everlyn commented, her eyebags weren't clear as mine since she must have poured a shit ton amount of concealer to hide it.
"Yeah shit Sherlock" I just glance at her lightly before putting my focus on my netbook again. Our subject in animal anatomy was seriously taking a toll on my head, there are just so many bones and structures to memorize. I can't learn it in just three days which our terror teacher, one that the old students of hers called her, gave for her long quiz.
"I think we need some coffee to get the system going" I stood up on my seat, since it's self-study today I don't need to cope up in this room filled with my classmates who seem like they were summoning the devil as they repeated the bones in a particular animal's body.
The two of us went to the nearest coffee shop, the smell of caffeine-filled my nostrils, and I relished the new addiction that I had. We sat near the windowpane and watched the street as it fills with people as they went on their way whether to work or to go home.
Sleep hardly entered me, nightmares of red bloodied eyes and the cold ferocious body of a wolf who almost killed me if it wasn't for Lukka. It always sent shivers of fear whenever I thought of it, remembering the nights where I rocked myself to sleep and hold back the sobs that would wreck over me was painful. It was just a week ago but it felt like it was just yesterday.
What confused me is by the end of the night, I would wake up somewhat refreshed, the only thing that tired me is how I reviewed for our upcoming long quiz and that happened four days ago. Three days passed where I would always wake up in my nightmare and then suddenly, I would feel my eyes getting heavier until I felt myself being surrounded by the warmth that I quickly fell asleep.
"Earth to Selene!" Hands waved in front of me and I blocked to see Everlyn's ocean blue eyes twinkling in mischief. "What? Still thinking of Lukka?"
"I'm not!" Great, after my mother learned about Lukka, she and Everlyn allied to make me embarrassed at every moment of my day and always state Lukka's name in front of me.
"Sure, I understand" yeah right, you understand what you want to believe then.
I looked at my phone and see the time, it was already time to leave school for Everlyn but I have another class before that. We went out of the coffee shop and I entered my chemistry class, Everlyn, on the other hand, told me she's going to be in the garden and wait for me.
The class made my head split into two, it was clear that I'm not meant for any subjects that consist of numbers and equations. Fortunately, we finished twenty minutes earlier, and soon, I fled the class and went straight to the garden where we used to chill out.
My eyes found the familiar figure of Everlyn but then found another familiar vermillion red-headed haired woman, I blinked profusely as I tried to clear my vision but she was still there, standing beside Everlyn.
"Oh, Selene! Here you are, meet Hati, she's a wonderful woman I'm telling you!" She even clasps her arm like they were sisters, eyes sparkling in excitement as if she has met her soulmate.
What the actual fuck?
"Hello Selene, it's nice to meet you" Hati handed her hand to me as I clasp her hand in a greeting, still unable to believe that she's here, standing in front of me, in my college with my friend!
"Yeah... nice to meet you too"
The two of them look like they came here straight out of a fashion magazine. Hati was down in full red which complements her snow-white skin even better. Wine-colored high-waisted jeans that accentuate her long full legs with a maroon crop top that fits perfectly against her endowed chest along with a Chanel blazer that hung into her fit figure.
"She's a late student and can you believe it? She's going to be one of your classmates, aw, I wish I could go with you two" Everlyn's cherry lips pouted as she looked at the two of us in envy.
"Don't worry, we could still meet up and we could always hand out with each other" Hati comforted her and added. "We could take Selene with us to have fun" Oh God no, I know what fun they are thinking of and it's not the fun that I wanted.
Everlyn rejoiced while holding Hati's arms, they seem pretty close to each other now and I just know it's bad news for me, not because I'm jealous of Everlyn having a new friend but because of the huge similarity between their personalities.
I need to talk to her, right now.
Right then after that, Everlyn's phone rang, and we were left behind temporarily by her. I took my chance and pulled Hati in an inconspicuous corner and stared at her.
"How the hell did you become a student here and why are you here?"
"It's because I've missed you!" I look at her dead in the eye, she sighs and finally told the truth. "Someone is worried about you that's why I offered to become your bodyguard"
My face heated up at her words and glared at her after seeing the smirk off of her face.
"It's true! I swear to the moon goddess, it's true" she even swore an oath to their goddess so it must be true then.
Even after knowing that, my face continued to heat up so I can only change topics with her. I don't want to get my hopes high, I don't even know why he's the first person that came to my mind when she said that someone wanted to protect me.
"Then what's the matter? I won't enter the forest again without telling all of you, no need to worry about me"
Pack members protect each other and the fact that I'm a human makes me more vulnerable to the pack's enemies. But it's just an accident that I almost got myself killed by my greed and stupidity and I have long learned to not enter the forest again at night without telling them.
"The wild wolf that you met..." She trailed off and my breath hitched, I feel like what she's about to say would change my life.
"What have you found?"
"We found a trace of him and he's one of the students here that was taken"
Taken? What the actual fuck?
"What do you mean taken?" My heart was about to burst out of my ribcage when she continued, my face paled and I wanted to vomit.
"Some students were bitten and some of them... are from this town"
