Home was truly the best place he could possibly be, but, alas, was not an available option.

After I returned to the hotel room I immediately called Hati, I wanted her to relay the information that I got to our members- that Lukka is here but there is still uncertainty hanging in the air.

She didn't pick up on the first try and the second time, she did and I was immediately connected to her.

"What's the matter? I thought you'd be stuck there for-"

"I saw him" I cut her off, there was silence on the other line before I picked up her shuddering breath.

"He's there? Did you see him? Will he... come back?" The last part was mentioned in hesitation, I could emphasize with her after all he's been a part of their pack for year's and now he just up and left.

Seeing his tall straight back from before was a huge relief, it was like a heavy boulder pressing my heart whenever I thought of him vanished. He was alive but I didn't know if he was well, but it was fine if he's walking and talking.

"I just saw him briefly" not even five seconds have turned, definitely not a brief encounter. "But he didn't turn when I called his name"

Silence once again reigned on the other side before I heard her sighing in frustration. They never stop looking for him, Maico would ask the other leaders if they saw Lukka or even describe the color of his wolf and his size but then it gradually faded till there was no more news that could be about him.

We were losing hope until he appeared before me, flashed to be exact but it didn't matter, he still appeared albeit just a few seconds.

"Should you try contacting him again?" Mind linking what was on my mind, after all these years they tried to mind link him but he wasn't answering.

I remember the first month after he left, unending worry and fear plagued my mind, nightmares continued to haunt me and I would just hope that everything is well for him.

For eight years I have already let go of the hate that stuck to me when he left without saying goodbye, have my heart broken into pieces yet I have already picked it up and stitched it on my own.

I knew he was on his journey of getting stronger and I understand him now, but I just hope that he could at least show and give a definite answer to us.

Will he stay or will he not?

...

"Are you really leaving?" Everlyn decided to come with me as I drive through the airport, Shuren is in the passenger seat.

"I am, I'll call you, don't worry"

"It's not it... you know about Christian"

Oh. I almost forgot about him but I thought I've already implied to him that I wasn't interested in having a relationship with him or either any person.

"You've moved on, right?"

I couldn't answer her, not because I didn't want to but because I still haven't know the answer yet to her question.

Maybe it was my obsession that got in my way of letting go, I wanted him to stay but his actions were too vague and he hasn't given me much to look at.

I wanted him to tell me that he won't be coming back to stop this obsession of mine or else it'll just run non-stop through my veins.

"I know" she answered, an ambiguous one but I could understand the implication behind it.

We drove through the airport, one that she is working on, we step inside, and Shuren was kind enough to take my luggage. As usual, the airport was busy like its city, like a spinning top wheel that never ends its spin.

Everlyn gave me one last hug, it was something that was the first of us, to be away from each other not because of work but because our homes are now a hundred miles apart.

"I'm gonna miss you" she murmured while sniffing, she then took the handkerchief that her husband gave to her and wipe it gently on her tear-stained eyes.

"I do too, so much, be happy okay?" It was my sincere wish for her, to be happy and contented with life.

"So do you!" She playfully punches me in the shoulder and I just giggled at her before waving goodbye as I see my number flashing by.

I was about to turn my back when I notice a figure, it was a hulk of a man and he was standing still like a post, his electrifying blue eyes met with mine.

And then he smiled and against the bustling crowd I could make out what he was mouthing.

"Sorry"

Then he was gone.
