Chapter 18

With that, we went to join a conversation with Heeseung, until 15min before the manager was expected to come.

Jae-in POV

"You kids better get to bed, I'll turn off the lights once y'all climb up." Heeseung said.

Everyone else had gone to sleep, but we were still worried that the manager would see me and kick me out me of the room, resulting in a failed dare so Jungwon would still have to do the forfeit, and I couldn't let that happen.

Jungwon let me go up the ladder first, averting his eyes to see Heeseung walking towards the light switch. Once I was up, he climbed up quickly and covered us both with the blanket.

Being closer than I thought, my heart started beating wildly at the feel of Jungwon's body heat emitting from him even though I couldn't really see him in the darkness.

Thank god because I don't think I could handle that kind of proximity if any.

Just as I was about to try to go to sleep, I heard the door open. Oh god that must be the manager, how was I supposed to work with that man if he saw me right now..

Hearing him too, Jungwon quickly shifted closer, bringing me as close as possible to him and gently pushing us both towards the wall so I would be out of sight since we were directly opposite the door.

Trying to calm myself down, I tried taking deep breaths but all that did was make me inhale more of Jungwon's scent. Damn him and his pheromones, smelling like warm rain and the lightest hint of vanilla. Okay that's just creepy Jae-in please stop.

I couldn't move or say anything because the manager was still in the room, so I could only try to drift off to sleep so that I wouldn't expose us. Slowly taking in his scent, I drifted off the sleep in his arms, not noticing when the manager left the room.

Jungwon POV

After awhile, manager-nim finally left so I loosened my grip on Jae-in to prevent her from being stuck against the wall all night and I was about to move away completely when I realised her hand was still holding the front of my t-shirt.

Taking in her sleeping expression, I chuckled silently to myself, making sure I didn't wake her up before I brought her back into my arms, dirfting off to sleep as well.

Crash

Bang

I stirred awake from my sleep, wondering what was making so much noise. Realising it had started to rain heavily, I got up to make sure no windows were left open by accident.

Luckily, nobody else had been disturbed and were still peacefully sleeping. With Jae-in facing the wall, I was able to climb down and walk into the living room, where I shut the glass door fully.

Rain drops were already starting to pelt inwards, causing the edge of the floor to be slightly slippery. Afterwards, I went to the kitchen for a glass of water.

Jae-in POV

When I woke up to the sound of thunder, I turned around to find that Jungwon had already gotten up or gone somewhere. Thinking he just went to the bathroom, I laid there for awhile to wait for him.

After a few minutes, I decided to get up to get some water since my throat was getting dry from sleep.

"Woah you scared me" I whisper-shouted at Jungwon, who had his back towards me in the dark kitchen.

Turning to face me, I saw faintly as Jungwon started to giggle at the both of us with messed up hair and barely awake eyes staring at each other.

Finding it amusing too, I joined in, trying to keep it quiet so we wouldn't wake up the other members. After we both poured a cup of warm water into our mugs, we went to sit on the floor of the living room, facing the glass door.

As we slowly drank our water and watched the rain, Jungwon suddenly broke the silence, whispering,
"I thought you were afraid of thunderstorms?"

"When I was young..you still remember?"

"Yeah... that time we got stuck under the staircase?"

"Mhm..I'm sorry for ignoring you after that by the way, I was just being immature and didn't know how to properly communicate and-" I rambled, not sure how to appropriately say I messed up.

"Shh I know"

Putting his mug down, Jungwon looked at me, bringing me into a hug. Slightly stunned, I stayed frozen in his arms, before slowly wrapping my arms around his neck.

"I missed you" he breathed out, his warm breath sweeping against my neck.

"I'm sorr-"

"This is the part where you say you missed me too" he interrupted softly, chuckling.

"I missed you too" I said, laughing softly.

With that, we washed up the mugs as the rain dwindled into a light drizzle and went back to bed, stuck in each other's therapeutic embrace.

The next day

Sunghoon POV

Damn why is it so bright- I told Jay to close the curtains PROPERLY before going to sleep but that dude just knocked out like a light. I guess it should be about time to get up anyway...

Whoa hold on... is that Jae-in... on Jungwon's chest? How...

I must still be dreaming or something. Thinking I just needed to wash up, I headed off to the bathroom to wash up, but ended up slamming the door accidentally due to the unexpectedly strong wind.

Jae-in POV

WHAM

As I tried to open my eyes, I ended up squinting up at Jungwon, who still seemed peacefully asleep. Who forgot to close the curtains yesterday.. WAIT what time is it and where's my phone... Sitting up to look around, I was unsure whether or not to get up.

Looking down at Jungwon, I realised that I really didn't want to wake him up by crossing over him so I just lay back down for awhile while his chest rose and sank to the rhythm of his heartbeat.

Hearing the door open, I saw Sunghoon walk in when I sat up again. This time Jungwon stirred a little, before slowly opening his eyes and looking up at me.

"Good morning~ I'm going down to wash up first alright, you take your time to get up." I said, before trying my best to gingerly cross his body without crushing him accidentally.

As he nodded back to sleep, I went past Sunghoon who seemed frozen on the spot. He seemed to zone out a lot so I didn't think much of it, wanting to wash up asap so I could get on with the day.
