Chapter 10

Jae-in POV
I was transferred to a nearby school the within a week, much to my despair since the timetable was much longer and way more complicated.

Can you believe we had a completely different timetable for even and odd weeks? I took nearly a month to remember my old timetable which was the same for both even and odd weeks and they expected me to know exactly where to go ? Let's just say I didn't exactly meet that expectation...

I later found out that Sunghoon, Jay, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-ki were all going to the same school, just that they usually only did half days because of their trainings.

Although recently I've been getting closer to Sunoo, I'm still not super comfortable with the rest of them, excluding Jungwon (or maybe including ? my brain can't comprehend whether I'm pretending I don't know him or if I'm used to him)

Anyway, Sunoo is really nice to me most of the time, but this one time he took my strawberry hair clip and stuck it in his own hair, claiming that it looked better on him, so we ended up arguing for the whole car ride back to the dorm.

As for Sunghoon, he hasn't really talked much, but every time I look over at him he seems to be looking my way so I usually duck away out of sight before we have an unnecessary staring competition.

Jay and Ni-ki haven't talked much to me but since I had gotten pretty good grades in my old school they didn't make me drop a grade although I was a transfer student, which meant I was still in the same grade as Jungwon which brought back memories I didn't remember that I had.

We were seated together in mathematics one day when the teacher called us out for talking (btw we were only arguing about which planet was better, venus or mars, I was siding venus) and asked us to answer a question each.

Sucks to be me since my math is literally the worst possible subject I take like I can get straight As if we exclude maths. Seeing as I had suddenly gone mute, Jungwon smiled brightly at the teacher and answered correctly for his question first, as well as a bonus question too. Impressive and all but all I could think of was WHAT A TEACHER'S PET.

The question she asked him was way easier than the question she asked me and it was totally unfair. That bought me some time to think but I still didn't get the question completely right in the end.

After we both finished answering her questions, the teacher went back to her boring lecture on numbers and what not, leaving a smirking Jungwon looking at me. How did I know he was smirking?

JUST A FEELING because I absolutely did not dare to look up from my textbook after that, afraid I would make an awful impression just a week into the school year. Jungwon later scooched his chair nearer, causing his resting arm to rest on my writing arm, which I didn't notice until I snapped out of my daze.

Me zoning out in lessons ? NEVER- okay a little bit maybe, but we both stayed like that until the end of the next period, occasionally moving to take an eraser or drink some water but always returning to that position.

I wasn't too sure whether he noticed our proximity or not but if he did, he didn't say or do anything about it. Throughout the next few days of school, that was our routine and sometimes when he felt drowsy he would just lie on our arms and take a short nap and I would keep so still that once he woke up I would let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.

Jungwon just looked so peaceful as he slept that I couldn't bear the thought of waking him up, meaning my notes probably were left on many cliffhangers, for whenever he decided to sleep.

Whenever we got back from school, we would usually have a snack together with Sunghoon and Jay while Ni-ki stayed back for korean lessons, before the other boys left for the company to have dance practices or vocal training.

Since I usually went with them, I would also have half days, so I would usually use the time leftover to catch up on schoolwork or read up the next chapter. Despite how much school he missed, Jungwon did relatively well in school and I wanted to make sure I wasn't trailing behind.

Once I read so much Geography that I fell asleep on my textbook unknowingly, but woke up in my bed the next morning. I only found out that Jungwon had carried me to bed when Sunoo told me the next day, calling me a drooling meercat in the process. He definitely earned a large flick on the forehead for that, which especially sucked because I would've kicked him in the shin if he didn't have dance practice later in the day.

Jungwon POV
I knew it. After all these years she hasn't changed a bit, even her mathematics skills or lack there of. I knew Mrs Do favored me and purposely gave me an easy question, but it still felt like a great boost for my ego that Jae in couldn't solve her question while I did 2. It was however quite amusing to see her look down at her textbook for a whole 30min on the exact same page though. I doubt she was even reading it but I decided not to call her out on it anyway.

Dance practice was ridiculously draining today, we were working on stamina so they made us do it 10 times in a row nonstop, meaning all of us felt sweaty and exhausted by the time we got back to the dorm at around 10pm.

I showered first since I shower the fastest, contrary to whatever nonsense Sunoo hyung sprouts about me being slow. By the time I finished the warm shower, I was about to walk into the room to knock out when I saw Jae in's door slightly ajar. Peeping my head in, I realised she was sleeping with her head in her arms on a textbook?

Who knew she was that hardworking? I chuckled to myself and creaked the door open gently, tip toeing towards her desk. I watched for awhile as her back rose and fell to the rhythm of her breathing until I had to force myself to look away and think over the impulsive thoughts that crept into my mind.

Calming down, I reached my arms out and carried her to the bed, hoping she wouldn't wake up. Thankfully, she just adjusted herself on the bed and went back to sleeping, keeping her eyes closed in the process. Unable to contain myself, I pecked her forehead lightly before rushing out of the room and gently closing the door behind me.
