Jungwon remained silent, seeming to not want to anger Sunghoon further, which I later decided was a good idea. Looking back out the window, I waited until we got back to the dorm.
__________________________________Jae-in POV
For the next couple of days, our schedule was so packed that I couldn't remember the last time I was able to clear up my thoughts and fully accept the fact that I was now a part of an actual kpop group...
In fact, I was still in disbelief, but due to the promotions, fan-meets, variety shows and music show performances, we barely had time to rest. Though we were busy, Jungwon still had his ways of getting on my nerves.
Once, I had a ribbon as a prop for one of the opening performances, which I thought was so cool because it reminded me of the gymnasts who would do routines with the same type of ribbon, but just 20 minutes before I went on stage, Jungwon was fooling around with the ribbon and broke the stick entirely.
Like the WHOLE STICK BROKE!!! I had no idea how he even managed that but seeing as I didn't have time to lecture him, I ran to the costume room behind the stage and thankfully Yoonha had an extra one prepared, although it was in a different colour.
I ended up being able to perform with the ribbon despite my bundle of nerves trying to get me to mess up, and afterwards Jungwon had apologised with a sheepish look on his face, to which I rolled my eyes.
"Aren't YOU supposed to be the older one here?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Well...it WAS fun to play with...while it lasted at least"
"Jerk.." I muttered under my breath, turning my back to him and leaving.
"I heard that!" He screamed after me, running to catch up.
When he finally reached me, he smiled widely and apologised over and over again, not letting me leave until I reassured him that he was forgiven, and I apologised for calling him a jerk too.
However, once he realised I wasn't genuinely mad at him anymore, he ran off to join the other members.
"Race you back to the room!" He called over his shoulder.
Scoffing, I walked in slow motion behind him, uninterested in his immature antics, although a smile was still plastered on my face. Back at the dorm, I complained to Heeseung about Jungwon being immature even though he was older and also the leader.
Widening his bambi eyes, Heeseung replied "Jae...I think he's just comfortable with you, I mean he's known to be mature for his age"
"But-but that shouldn't give him the right to-" I pouted out, stopping as I watched Jungwon walk out sleepily from their dorm room.
"Can you guys like...not be obsessed with me for awhile, I'm trying to sleep."
With a sleepy win....uh blink in my direction and a faint slanted smile, he walked back into their dorm room.
"Close your jaw Jae-in, he's not much to gawk at" Heeseung chuckled out.
Grinding my teeth together, I sent a glare in his direction, emphasising that I was not gawking at him and that he was being a cocky a*hole!
Laughing at my worked up state, he merely furrowed my hair and walked to his dorm room.
"Sure sure....goodnight Jae-in"
I sighed, resigning to my own room.
Since I had decided that Jungwon and I would be better off as friends, things have been somewhat normal for us, just that his cocky and arrogant act was getting on my last nerve.
Especially since he had enough fans gaping at him every time we had a fan-meet, I'm pretty sure even a fighter plane wouldn't make a dent in his growing ego.
In fact, almost all the guys had a huge ego boost after this comeback, with an overall growth in their fandom. Even Jay, who usually seemed not to care much for compliments, had started to take a second look at himself in every reflective surface.
Speaking of male egos, Sunghoon's was turning into a whole country. His ego was so big that I could probably fit a blue whale into it. The guy kept checking himself out and whispering affirmations to himself even though he obviously didn't need them.
It didn't help that everyone hyped him up, so I decided it would be my job to keep him down to earth.
"You aren't all that Sunghoon"
"Have you even seen me"
"I'm looking at you right now idiot"
"That's oppa to you"
"You don't even care for honorifics!"
"Yeah but it would be nice to hear from you"
"In your dreams"
Rolling my eyes, I had to walk away before I puked at his face. The boys could be so obsessive over their looks sometimes that it scared me, but luckily Jake was still there for me no matter how much his ego grew.
He would read comments and then come to my room so that we could debunk them together and laugh off our exhaustion from the schedule.
"Look! that one says I have eyes as deep as the ocean"
"More like eyes that cry enough to fill an ocean"
"I don't cry-" Jake protested, which was met with my laughs as I thought back to the time he bawled his eyes out watching Titanic.
"Yeah haha... At least I'm not in a ship with my best friend"
"What." I replied, eyes widening at the comment he pointed to.
'Jungwon and Jae-in look so cute together OMG DID YALL KNOW THEY HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY"
the comment replies below that were similar, sending shivers up my spine...from disgust..right?
'SOULMATE THINGS ONLY'
'i can already see the jaewon shippers coming!!'
'Jaewon would save the industry'
I stared blankly at the screen... Jaewon was out ship name? Why not Jung-in? Jaewon just sounds like they're shipping Jungwon with Jake...
Telling Jake about it, he laughed with me, saying that he'll bring it up to engenes one day so that I could have my way.
Jungwon POV
Despite our hectic schedule, I was thankful for the members being by my side, cheering me up and being parts of some of my favourite days.
When Jake had shown me some of the comments, I was immediately attracted to a comment about me and Jae-in. Did they really think we would be good together... With a playful smirk on Jake's face, I knew I would never hear the end of this...
