As Jae-in and Jungwon strolled peacefully along the Han River, lights softly illuminating their faces, Jae-in suddenly noticed an old man selling ice cream from a cart nearby, pulling Jungwon by his arm and gesturing towards the ice cream cart.
"Yeah..what's up?" Jungwon said, visibly flustered at Jae-in's hand attached to his coat sleeve.
"There's ice cream! Remember when I told you I would buy you a whole truck if I ever got famous?"
"Haha yeah! You aren't going to buy that man's cart are you..."
"No way..I'm not psycho okay... let's get ice cream though, my treat?"
Jungwon smiled and nodded, giving in after seeing the excitement in her eyes.
Jae-in POV
As we strolled over to the old man, we saw him conversing with a girl around my age, who had her back facing us. Unalarmed, Jungwon ordered ice cream for the both of us and refused to let me pay even though I had offered."Jungwon-ah... you're going to make me feel bad you know.." I told him pointedly, trying to pay him back.
"It's just ice cream darling.. you don't have to pay", he whispered back
"Don't 'darling' me!" I whisper-screamed, looking around to make sure nobody had heard him. Luckily, the girl had disappeared and the old man was busy with a different customer who seemed to have earphones in.
"You did promise to buy me an ice cream truck... I'll have to take you up on your word!"
Smiling, I nodded, agreeing to his conditions. While eating our ice cream and walking, I felt strange, as if we were being watched or followed, and tried to shake it out of my mind.
We were in the dark with masks and hats to cover our identity, so surely nobody had a reason to be following some random strangers right? With that thought out of my mind, I continued bickering with Jungwon over whether to lick or bite ice cream when eating it, laughing at our absurd arguments.
While walking, I suddenly saw two bright flashes of light which shocked me so badly that I dropped my ice cream and stumbled back, Jungwon steadying me with one hand while squinting to see where the light came from.
However, by the time our vision fully recovered, we were just alone, left in the dark. I could tell Jungwon was getting slightly tense and worried, so I shook my head and laughed, saying "Aw dang it, I didn't even get to finish my ice cream!" which caused him to chuckle slightly too, the both of us continuing to walk along the pathway.
When we made it back to our dorm, the other members were already asleep, which was strange since we were only out for 1 or 2 hours while the members usually didn't sleep early anyway... unless it was early in the morning...
Not wanting to wake them up, Jungwon suggested that he sleep on the couch, which I felt bad about, but I didn't have any other solution since we probably wouldn't fit on my bed and it would be highly inappropriate if the manager saw us in the morning.
So, in order to make it even, I suggested we have a sleepover in the living room, where the both of us took opposite sides of the couch, since it was large enough to fit like 7 people on it anyway. He tried to convince me it was fine, but I insisted that I wouldn't let him sleep outside alone, so he ended up agreeing anyway.
After we quickly set up our sleeping situation, changed and washed up, we both settled down quietly.
"Goodnight Jae-in"
"Goodnight Jungwon"
We went to sleep with the soft sound of drizzling as the rain started once more.
the next morning
Light streamed through the curtains and I got up slowly, still drowsy from our late night expedition. I saw Sunghoon walking out from the bathroom and into the living room, looking confused as to why Jungwon and I were outside.
Trying not to wake Jungwon, I slid my legs off the sofa, which caused him to grab my wrist right before I was able to get up. With his eyes still closed, he pulled me back onto the sofa, with me having to swerve into a pillow to avoid falling on him.
Realising Sunghoon was still standing at the doorway, I tried to wiggle out of Jungwon's grasp, but dang that boy is strong. Giving up my struggle after awhile, I gently shook Jungwon, hoping to wake him.
"Good morning Jungwon....it's time to wake up.."
Seeing him smile in his sleepy state and shake his head, I sighed and looked up to Sunghoon with the best "SOS" face I could manage. Sunghoon laughed to himself slightly and walked into the kitchen instead, where I could hear him opening the fridge to find breakfast.
Did he just choose breakfast over saving his best friend from a chokehold...
Not wanting the other members to come out and misunderstand the situation, I shook Jungwon slightly harder.
"Jungwon-ah...it's time to get up, the members are waking up"
Luckily, he finally opened his eyes and slowly sat up, just in time for the manager to walk in, giving us a weird look and turning to wake the other members up.
"That was a close one"
"You don't say" I glared at Jungwon jokingly, getting up to wash up for the day.
Jungwon POV
Since Jae-in went to wash up first, I thought I'd go to the kitchen to fix up some breakfast for the group. Seeing Sunghoon sitting alone at the dining table, I wondered how long he had been up for.
"Good morning Sunghoon-hyung! Is there anything to eat?"
"Uh yeah.. check the fridge"
"There's nothing in the fridge though"
"There's bread in the cupboard...I think"
Sure enough, I opened the cupboard to see a loaf of bread. Grabbing some jam from the fridge, I set them both down on the table, Sunghoon hyung looking up from his food at me.
"So how was your night with Jae-in?"
