Y/N POV

It has been a really good season for my second year in the USF2000 Championship. Coming into this race, I was currently leading the championship heading into the final race of the season in Laguna Seca. This track brings back good memories for me as I have won here last season. Looking to continue my good form here from last season, I hope to finish off this season with a win.

I prepared for the race like this race is going to determine my life. I have been fighting with Logan Sargaent and Jak Crawford the whole season. Both Logan Sargaent and Jak Crawford have been pushing me to my limit this season and with Logan Sargaent heading to Formula 3 with Charouz Racing next season, I know that I will have a very high chance of getting an F3 drive if I beat him and win the Championship.. These two are currently only a few points behind me in the Championship and I must finish ahead of them in the race for a chance to win.

Qualifying didn't really went that well. The team has got the installation lap all wrong and losing hydraulics during my flying lap means I was unable to complete a lap before I lost drive. Coming to a half during qualifying, I was really disappointed because I will be starting from the back of the grid for the race later. The only good news from this session was that my main rivals of Logan Sargaent and Jak Crawford are starting in P7 and P12 respectively which makes my job of beating them a little bit easier in the race.

Luckily, the team was able to fix the hydraulics issue I had in the qualifying session before the race start. Meaning that I was able to compete in this race. Lining up on the grid, I had one thought in my mind. I need to push myself to the limit this race and finish the race ahead of Logan Saergant and Jak Crawford. Visor down, it's go time.

Jay Howard: Ok Y/N, focus on the lights. There are 22 cars in front of you heading into turn 1 together. Just stay away from trouble and we'll build our race from there.

Right at the launch, I have managed to get a really good start. However, I was boxed in heading into turn 1 meaning that I have to back off which sent me back to last place as I headed into the first corner. With a few drivers crashing out due in the first corner while fighting for position, I found a clean route and collected a few positions as I exited turn 1. It wasn't the best start but Ib have managed to stay out of the first corner trouble at the start of the race which was crucial.

Composing myself, I started to fight my way back through the field from last place. It wasn't that easy as there were still 20 cars in the race. Even though, some overtakes were made easy for me because a few of the rookie drivers made mistakes at the tricky Corkscrew corner. I managed to pass Jak Crawford sitting in P8 without getting held up was a crucial overtake because this leaves me with Logan Sargaent right up the road with a few laps to go. The move on Logan Saegaent was a simple pass. With much better grip exiting the final corner, I tucked into his slipstream and went down the inside into turn 1 with ease.

Rounding off the final lap, I was in a very good position to win the title, as long as I don't make any mistake and finish in this position. Heading out the final corner, I saw the chequered flag waving and even though I didn't win this race, I still won the championship which is what really matters. At that moment, I was lost with words. I can't believe that I have won the USF2000 Championship. I was going through a lot of emotions. Coming from not having a drive during December last year to winning the USF2000 Championship was amazing. I really owe Jay Howard Driver Development a big one and winning this title for them is the best way to repay them.

Jay Howard: Congratulations, Y/N you are officially the USF2000 Champion.

Y/N: THANKS GUYS, THANKS FOR BELIEVING IN ME. THIS ONE IS FOR YOU GUYS.

A Few Days Later

Returning home, I was still living off the high of winning the USF2000 Championship. However, life needs to move on and so do I. Winning the championship means I would not be able to compete in the USF2000 Championship anymore so I need to look for a drive in other championship. My mom has been trying to help me sort out a drive for the upcoming season with her sending my CV to a lot of teams in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.

Checking my email, I realised that I have 3 unopened emails from my inbox. I opened all three emails and read it and all of them are offers from Formula 3 teams. I screamed in excitement as I discovered that I have offers from Prema, Carlin and Hitech.

Now I face a really tough decision. All three teams are really good teams and all have a chance to provide me a winning car in the F3 Championship. At last I decided to accept the offer from Carlin Racing because they have a direct link with a Formula 2 team. I rejected Prema purely because of the grudge I held with them from last season and Hitech are a fairly new team in Formula 3. So Carlin it is.

Quickly accepting the offer, I started to pack for my journey to England where I will be starting my new life near the Carlin factory Farnham. Suddenly my mom came in with a few big bags. Without caring about what is in the bag, I went over and hugged her.

Mom: Y/N, can't believe you are leaving in a week.

Y/N: Thank you mom, thank you for doing all this for me and believing in me.

Mom: Y/N, I will be supporting you here. If you ever need me over in England just give me a call and I will get on the next flight over. Take care darling.

I was really grateful that I have a supportive mom. Without her, I won't be here packing my stuff and heading to England where I will start my new life as a Formula 3 driver for Carlin Buzz Racing. Of course it was tough to separate with my parents but sometimes when you are chasing a dream, there will be some sacrifices. I know my mom will continue to support me over in Toronto and she will fight for what is the best for my path to Formula 1. She has helped me set up my racing career, got me into Formula 3 and on track to Formula 1, it is now down to my hard work and talent to see if I can achieve my dreams. Only two more steps to go before I arrive at the pinnacle of motorsport. This route won't be easy but I am willing to take this tough and challenging route.

Y/N: I am going to miss you a lot mom.

Mom: Go make us proud son, I trust in your talent.

Woohoo, Y/N finally made it into Formula 3. Sorry if the chapters are boring you and there aren't many K-Pop and idol related plot so far. But this book is mainly focused on Y/N and his journey into F1, especially at the start. So bare with me for now, I promise this won't purely be an F1 book.

Also, I have came up with an updating schedule. I will try my best to give 2 updates per week with Trequartista Across The World publishing a new chapter on weekdays and this book will get updates every weekend. As to how many chapters for Trequartista Across The World will be published during weekdays I don't know but I will definitely publish a chapter for this book during the weekends.

Finally thank you for reading and supporting this book. Please vote for this chapter and vote along this book. I really hope you enjoyed this book so far and I will see you next chapter.
