Riley was telling me what had happened.

"What about Lucas?" I asked her.

"What about him? He's a jerk," she mumbled. Her facial expression changed to surprised. "Do you still like him after what he did?"

"No! No," I insisted. "Maybe. I dont know. Life is just so dang confusing!"

She eyebrowed me. "Dude, he cheated on both of us," I looked down. "And I just kissed Farkle so, um, you may have relationship problems but I have more," she said teasingly.

I looked at the clock and saw it was 11:30.

"It's getting late, do you wanna call it a night?" I asked.

"How about we call it a month?" She said at the dramatic day we have had.

"How bout a year?" I added as I got into the sleeping bag. Once I was all zipped up I got thirsty.

"Riles, you know how you need to get up but you don't feel like it?" I asked her.

"Yeah, that's like almost every night of my life," she laughed as she took up her phone and typed something.

"Well it's happening to me so go and get me a glass of milk."

Riley rolled her eyes and headed for the fridge. "Your lucky I'm such a good friend. And that I was thirsty too," she said as she put down her phone.

She came back with not just milk, but chocolate milk with cookies while she had strawberry milk.

"You know me so well," I said taking a bite out of a cookie.

"Ever since first grade," she answered.

Just as we were about to finish our cookies about 15 minutes later, we talk a lot, someone came through the door. I looked expecting to see Lucas or Farkle or even a magic sorcerer at this point but instead I saw my mom.

"Hey, Maya. I'm sorry about canceling today. I am just trying to get that promotion so that we can..."

"Ahem!!" I said interrupting her. She was taking off her jacket facing the coat rack so she didn't see Riley who was on the opposite side of me.

She finally looked up seeing Riley. She shot me a "I almost made a big boo-boo" look.

"Hello, Riley. It's always a nice to have you come over," she said looking around. "And I'll clean this up so that you won't gave to."

"Thanks," I said insincerely.

She is trying to get away with ruining our day. This was like the only time I got to see her this past week.

"And, hey," she said before going into her room.

"Yeah," I said looking up.

"I love you, okay."

It's like she knew what had happened today. It's like she could read my mind. I haven't been able to hear those words lately from her. I loved those words.

"I love you too, mom."

She walked over and kissed my forehead. She then walked back to her room.

"And those are the last sweats you can have for the rest of the night it's late and I don't want you to have a headache in the morning," she said. Before closing the door.

"Alright!" I said as she closed the door. I looked at the clock. It was 11:48.

"It won't be today in twelve minutes. It will be tomorrow," I said with a smirk.
