Adrian Knows a Lot About Booby Traps

| Luna |

We checked in at another inn and stayed the night. James didn't seem to sleep much. I slept immediately and woke up - as usual - early. When I woke up James was awake just fiddling around with the blanket.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" I asked him, while yawning.

"Don't feel like it," he said.

"Well, we still have a few hours before we all wake up and leave. You will need to sleep at least for a few hours."

I walked over to his bed and sat next to him.

"You will sleep," I told him, "I am not giving you a choice. I'll stay here next to you if you want but you are going to sleep."

He smiled at me. I put my head on his shoulder and he put his arm around me.

"I think we should make you shadow travel more often," I told him, "at least then I know for sure that you will sleep."

He didn't reply. I looked up at him and smiled. He was already asleep.

"Well, I guess I found another way to make you sleep," I said softly.

I pulled the blanket on us and just sat there, listening to him breathing.

We all woke up in a few hours. We packed up and went to check out. We got our pegasi and went to the British Museum. We stopped a little far from the museum so that the pegasi could be safe.

"Cia and August, you guys go first, just to see if anything is there," I said.

They nodded and went. As they were walking I saw something coming up behind them. It was a dracaena . Cia and August didn't seem to see it. It was running towards them. I got out my spear charm. It grew longer, turning into a full size spare.Just as it was about to pounce, I summoned lightning and blasted it away from them.

"Cia! Behind you!" I yelled.

She turned around and saw a half burned dracaena. She stabbed the creature with her gladius. I ran up to her.

"Thanks," she said.

"No problem," I replied, "I think we'll all go together. Might be better."

They all nodded. We walked to the museum in silence. At the entrance there were no guards.

"That's weird," Juliette remarked, "no guards."

"And it doesn't seem like there is a force field either," August said.

"Well, let's go in then," I said, trying to keep the tremor out of my voice. We walked just ahead of the doors. There were statues on either side of the room. Cia was taking a step ahead when I said, "Wait. There might not be guards but there might be booby trapped. There doesn't seem to be any people in either."

"There was a sign outside," Tristen suddenly said, "it said that the museum was under construction. That might be why no one is here or why there were no guards."

"Yeah it could be," James said.

"But how do we check if there are booby traps?" Juliette asked.

"I've got that covered," Adrian said. He shot a volley of arrows in the room. As soon as he shot them, darts came out of the statues and hit the statue on the opposite side.

"How did you know that?" Juliette asked, staring at Adrian in surprise.

Adrian blushed and said, "Well I have watched a few adventure movies."

"It was fortunate that you did," I said, "I don't think anyone else would have had a sensible idea."

As we walked further in the room, I noticed something ahead. There was a glass case and inside that was a sword. The Sword of Tiberius.

Before I could run to get it, a voice behind us said, "Well, I guess you didn't give up your quest like I requested you to."

I turned around to see the boy who had appeared at the inn was standing at the entrance.

"And I see you have passed my first trap," he added, "well, I must thank you for coming, now I have one greek demigod and one roman one."
