I Become The Brainiac

| Luna |

After dinner I went to see Praetor Hazel. She was in the Forum.

"I was speaking to Ella," she said, "before we came to dinner. Apparently this is a time for a quest. Remember that boy who left camp? He wants to find an object called the Sword of Tiberius. And, sadly, he wants to start a rivalry again with the greek and roman demigods." She sighed.

I knew Hazel had been part of the war to stop Terra a.k.a Gaia. That time there was also a war that was mainly going to be formed by Greeks and Romans not working together. But then they had defeated Gaia/ Terra and all was well.

"So I have to go on a quest to find this demigod and stop him, right?" I asked Hazel.

"Yes. Since you are a centurion you can lead a quest." Then she paused before saying, "Ella also told me who all are supposed to go. She said 'the one who is considered a boy, the one in black, the non-aggressive one and the quiet one with the pouch.'"

Sadly, the descriptions were quite accurate.

"August, James, Cia and Tristen," I said.

"I know you are nervous to go with so many people," she said gently, "but you'll do fine. And, if you ask me, telling more people your secret helps. At least it helped when I told all my friends."

She smiled.

Hazel too was a child of the past. She had died, and her brother had got her back from the dead to give her a second life.

"And besides," she said grinning, "at least James will be going with. That should be interesting."

"Not you too" I groaned, "Cia has already started teasing me about this nonsense, don't you start too."

She laughed, "Well, it will be interesting to see what happens when you come back."

As we walked out Hazel turned to me and said, "You are going to be leading this quest Luna. You just have to trust yourself and you'll be fine."

With that she went off to join Praetor Frank.

"Soo?" Cia asked me, when I joined her.

"Soo we have a quest! You, August, James, Tristen and I have to go on a quest to retrieve the Sword of Tiberius. Sadly, I have to lead the quest," I told her, "We'll have to travel a lot cause the Sword of Tiberius is in England."

"When did you get so brainy?" she asked me.

"Hey, I read ok. Now come on, we've gotta find James, Tristen and August."

"I'll find Tristen and August. I know where they are. James is a little tougher to find, and I have a feeling you need to find him."

She quickly ran off before I got the chance to say something really sharp.

The worst part? I knew Cia was right. I was one of the only people who could find James. I don't know why other people find it hard, but only Hazel and I could find him easily.

I walked around camp and then saw him sitting in the garden of Bacchus. This was a really pretty spot at night. The stars were clear and the grape wines and flowers smelled really good. I went and sat down next to him.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey," I replied.

We sat in silence for a while, then he just suddenly said, "Do you know why I come here?"

"To get away from everything else?" I guessed.

He nodded. For some reason I knew exactly why he would come here, because I also come here. Being the child of Zeus, you get a lot of attention, which I hated, so I would come here in the day and just stare into the open.

"Yeah, even I come here," I told him, "but in the day. I feel safer, I guess, during the day."

He laughed, "It's the opposite for me."

I just nodded. I was looking at his pitch black ruffled hair. It looked so soft. I shook those thoughts out of my mind.

"Anyway," I told him, "I actually came to tell you that you need to go on a quest with me. And August, Tristen and Cia," I quickly added.

He just looked at me then said, "You needn't add that so quickly. Obviously it wouldn't be just us 2. There are always 3 or more."

I didn't know what to make of that so I just said, "Well, we leave first thing in the morning."

"Ok."

He got up then and offered me his hand. I took it and got up. The butterflies returned in my stomach but I ignored them.

Then we both walked back to our cohorts.
