Yours and Mine

Darkness spreads across the room.

Only moonlight caresses the blinds.

Entangled in one another.

Laying down looking into each other's eyes.

Your light blue eyes,

The color of the vast sea.

Your warm skin against mine,

Our words sweet on our tongue,

Directed at one another.

Smiles glued to our faces,

Your lips on mine,

Each kiss exploding into a flurry of emotions.

Hearts beat faster with every touch,

Every moment.

Both of us grasping onto each instant,

Hoping it will never end,

Yet wanting the next one to feel just the same.

Heat rises and the world slows,

Every sound amplified,

Every instance of contact magnified.

Then the world melts away,

Just you and I.

Our motions flow like a river,

Calm but passionate.

My heart races and our kisses and touch become more urgent.

The sun rises and renews the color that was lost in the night.

Giving your lips back its pink hue.

My eyes lighten as I see you rejuvenated.

Knowing that darkness will come again,

But familiar and welcomed.
