Inspired by "Howl" by Florence and the Machine
The day turns to night and the streetlights flicker on,
The moon gives off it's silvery light,
The air thickens with the darkness inside,
Slowly filling my lungs with invisible power,
Inhibiting my thoughts,
Yet charging the electricity in the room.
It takes over,
Dilating my pupils,
Rushing blood throughout my veins.
Unleashing a beast that was buried within,
Tearing away from the chains that had it bound.
A carnal desire bubbles up,
My talons come out latching onto you,
Like a predator and It's prey.
I tear my teeth across your chest to taste your beating heart,
In an instant it takes you over too,
Changing from an unassuming Omega,
To a ravenous Alpha fighting for power.
The curse that has befallen upon us is too much.
No holding you back,
You make your attack,
Becoming a Hunter,
With sharp teeth,
And sharper senses.
Pure of heart,
Pure of mind,
Without second thoughts,
Pouncing like a wild creature.
The Summer moon becomes lost,
And dawn breaks.
The light becomes the ropes,
tying up the beasts that we have become,
Putting us back in our cages,
Waiting for the silver of the night again.
