Mr. Boss, His Assistant and The Intern

Chapter 8

Tee looked around. He was waiting for his professor outside the company. Today is the day where his academic advisor chose to come and see him working. Tee already asked permission from Kin and also Lucas who relayed the word to their boss. Basically, Tee just asked permission to take some time leave for him to meet his professor. Kin helped to book a meeting room on the same floor with their office so that Tee and the professor could use it.

"Tee."

"Mr Bong." Tee wai-ed his professor who came from the side. The professor, Bong nodded with a small smile.

"Did I make you wait long?"

"No, krub. I just come here." Tee smiled and gestured politely for Bong to follow him. Bong nodded and walked with Tee into the company. Tee smiled to the receptionist and led Bong to the elevator. Bong just asked his student's well-being and made small conversation. Tee replied accordingly. They arrived at the floor and Tee led Bong to the meeting room.

"Are you ready to present?" Bong asked as he sat down.

Tee walked to the seat where he put his laptop earlier. "Krub but I'm unable to connect it with the projector. If you don't mind, sir."

"Don't worry. I just want to see things you have done for the first month. This visit is just wanted to see your internship really expose you to the work or not." Bong said. "And don't worry about the quantity of you have done. After all, it's just a month." Tee nodded at Bong's word. He then moved the laptop a bit closer to Bong.

Tee presented some stuff he had been doing, summarized in four slides. Because of the confidentiality, Tee can't show the program he had learnt to use but his seniors allowed him to put one screenshot with dummy data as an example. He explained to Bong everything he's allowed to tell. Bong was nodding from time to time as he listened to Tee's explanation. He jotted down something on his notebook as well. Tee couldn't see from his seating but he tried to ignore about it as he focused on finishing his explanation. It didn't take long as it's just four slides anyway. But as Bong said, quantity didn't matter.

Bong asked few questions following the guideline he had to fulfil for the visit. Tee answered it one by one even not perfect but passable. Bong again jotted down something and then concluded to Tee that they're done. He looked to his student. "You're doing just great. Don't worry na. You're a bit too nervous." Bong said trying to ease the tension. Tee just smiled lightly and scratched his back hair. At the same time, the door of meeting room got knocked and they looked to the door.

"Sorry for interruption. I just come to give some refreshment if- oh, Ai'Bong." Lucas who came in to serve some drinks noticed his friend. Bong stared at Lucas.

"Ah, right. No wonder I feel familiar with this company name. It's your working place." Bong said. Lucas nodded and placed the tea cup he brought for their guest who turned out to be his friend.

"You're really the professor for N'Tee." Lucas said.

"He worked with you?" Bong asked. Lucas nodded and smiled to Tee.

"Nong, he's my friend. I mention to you that my course mate also close friend worked as a lecturer at your university. Bong is the friend." Lucas explained. Tee formed an O. "Tee interned in my team so I know him. Ah, yeah. Ai'Kin is responsible for him through these three months."

"Kin... your co-worker?" Lucas nodded to Bong's question. He had several times mentioned Bong to Kin and Kin to Bong but the two had never met before. Lucas then noticed the slide on the screen and then remembered he had interrupted them.

"Ah, yeah. Sorry, I just come to bring some drinks for the guest. I will leave now."

"No need, we're done with the presentation and all." Bong said and Tee nodded. The professor took a sip of the tea and turned to Lucas. "Is it your lunchtime yet? We haven't eaten together for long."
