Chapter 37

"You come with me in the car, Lucas."

Tee and Lucas looked at Nai once those words left Nai's mouth. Ikk hummed. "That's a good idea. You can bring him to check up directly too." Ikk said agreeing to Nai's suggestion. Ikk turned to Tee and Lucas. "Just go with Nai, Lucas."

"But..." Lucas tried to refuse but couldn't come up with a reason. Ikk just gave a smile signalling him to agree. Tee stared at Nai who looked back at him. Nai didn't say anything but matched Tee's eyes.

"Come on, we're keeping the rest waiting." Nai said finally after a while. He moved to help Lucas walked to his car. They already walked down from the camping site to the parking place. All the way down, Lucas was piggy-backed by Nai as he shouldn't strain his injured foot.

"I will co-" Tee was about to say something when Ikk cut him off.

"I will take the bus with Tee and the rest, Nai. After all, I have things to do at the office later. I will go back by myself. You can just bring Lucas to check-up and send him home."

Tee turned to Ikk frowning. Ikk didn't look at Tee as he was looking at Nai. Nai nodded.

"Okay, P'." Nai replied. Lucas was speechless with this whole thing. He couldn't make a protest or anything, just dumbly followed Nai's guiding him into the car.

Tee didn't get to say anything more when Ikk already put his arms around Tee and pulled the younger towards the bus. "Let's go."

"But P'Ikk..."

"He will be fine, they will be fine. Don't worry." Ikk said smiling at Tee. Tee blinked. Ikk patted Tee's back and softly pushed Tee towards the bus. Kin had been taking Lucas's job to check on everything and make sure everyone boarded the bus. Everyone was already inside the bus except for Kin.

"P'Lucas?" Kin asked Tee.

Ikk just gave a smile when he heard that. "Lucas is really loved by everyone, yeah? Don't worry about him. Nai is taking him back with the car, they will go to the clinic for a check-up. I told him to send Lucas back home also. Don't worry." Ikk said. Kin blinked and then nodded stiffly. Ikk made Tee to board the bus, trying to make conversation with Tee so that the younger guy won't think much about Lucas. Kin followed them but he looked over to the car for a while. He didn't see Lucas but noticed his boss was just closed the passenger door and jogged to the driver side.

'Hope nothing will happen. What universe is trying to do for P'...' Kin mumbled to himself as he got on the bus. He told the driver that they could start their journey back. He then took his seat. Everyone was a bit tired from the game and activities so some of them planned to sleep through the journey. Only few of them were talking in hushes voice. The journey back was quieter.

In the car, the pair of boss and assistant was in deep silence. It was not uncomfortable but not comfortable either. Nai felt the silence was eating him up so he decided to put some songs. Once it's played, Lucas pulled his face away from the window towards the player screen. He tilted his head a bit before turning to Nai. Nai noticed that.

"Do you have something to say?" Nai said. Lucas blinked and shook his head.

"No, nothing." Lucas turned back to the window. Nai didn't say anything more and just let the song filled the silence. While he was focusing on the road, softly very softly he heard a voice singing along to the song. Nai blinked and tried to listen closely; it was indeed Lucas's voice. It's very soft but he managed to hear it even not clearly. At that discovery, something clicked in the back of Nai's mind.

'This playlist... these songs...' It wasn't really accidentally found or something, Nai just realized. These songs he searched it; most probably because he had heard Lucas humming sometimes when Lucas drove him, before eventually similar songs were suggested to him. And most of the songs that stuck to Nai and he inserted in that playlist, was what Lucas often listened. Nai's eyes twitched a bit at this realization.
