Mr. Boss, His Assistant and The Intern

Chapter 24

It's just another Monday for Team 1 but a new Monday without their lovely intern. Kin had to reconstruct some tasks under his responsibility that had been done by Tee in the three months to the other teammates. It's manageable except that they're short of hand now. It's going back to be a bit busy time for the people working with Kin as they lost extra hand. It's a normal change they needed to adapt anyway.

But there's another thing that looked unusual changing too. At first, no one didn't realize it until after the lunch, Lisa noticed something different between Lucas and their boss. She couldn't exactly pinpoint what's the different in between them but there's something.

"P'Kin." Lisa called in whisper when the said guy walked passing her desk from the pantry. Kin heard that and turned to the girl. He asked with his brows. Lisa called him to get closer. Lucas was currently not at his desk, went somewhere after the boss asked him to get something.

"P', don't you feel something is weird with P'Lucas and boss?" Lisa whispered to him. Kin looked at Lisa and blinked.

"How so? I mean they had been different since forever. I don't understand anymore." Kin said trying not to show his own thought regarding Lucas's hidden feelings.

Lisa sighed. "I don't know how to describe it. But something is very wrong. I- I think they're avoiding each other."

Kin frowned. "How so? They're working together, you know?" Kin said. Lisa exhaled.

"I know but... ugh, I don't know how to tell but my instinct said something is wrong." Lisa said frustrated. Kin patted her shoulder.

"Don't stress too much. If something isn't right with P'Lucas, we can try to cheer him up." Kin said hinting about the dinner last time. Lisa just nodded.

"But there's no N'Tee anymore." Lisa pursed her lips. They both knew Tee could help lifting up Lucas's mood with his cuteness. Kin just smiled lightly and then walked to his seat.

The talk with Lisa made him thinking. Had he not looking carefully at his senior that he didn't notice anything today? Kin was lost in his thought a bit that he didn't realize Lucas already came back to his desk. Lisa was glancing secretly at the assistant.

Lucas came back with few files in his hand and sat down again. He took a file and read through before looking at his laptop clicking here and there. He exhaled and looked up turning to Kin's direction. "Kin."

Kin didn't hear it of course as he's still lost in his mind. Lucas frowned when Kin didn't answer him. "Ai'Kin!" Kin startled by a bit loud voice. Some of them glanced at Lucas and Kin but ignored later not to be busy body.

"Krub?" Kin turned to Lucas. Lucas tilted his head.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Eh? Nothing. Sorry, what's up, P'?" Kin just gave a smile. He noticed Lisa was glancing at him.

"Come here for a while. I need to ask something." Lucas said. Kin gave a quick nod and got up. He went to Lucas and the two discussed about work.

Meanwhile in the other room, Nai was having a call with Ikk. "So, I guess now you can rest assure a bit. The board has agreed 90% about you becoming the CEO in the future." They're discussing about the slander case conclusion earlier and then Ikk opened the topic regarding the board meeting that Nai wasn't able to attend because he had another compulsory meeting to join.

"For real? Isn't that mean Khun Dara has given her white flag?" Nai said. Ikk was already aware of the situation why the board members tried to pressure Nai into marriage before taking the CEO's position, Nai had told him.
