Chapter 35

"Nan, help to check this paragraph. I'm afraid I make some mistakes." Tee said tapping Nan's hand who sat in front of him. Nan looked up from his laptop screen and nodded. He walked around the table to go to Tee's side.

The three of them, yes Nuerna was there too sitting beside Tee, were doing their last assignment for the semester on a class they had together. It's a group report on a certain case topic given by their lecturer. They're almost finished with already and there's a month more before their final examination.

Nuerna was glancing at Nan who was looking at Tee's laptop screen, reading through the part Tee did. Tee noticed Nuerna's look and sighed inwardly. It had been prolonged for some time already, about Nan and Nuerna. Since the incident at the dorm last time, Nan and Nuerna hadn't talk about it but wordlessly made agreement not to be awkward about it. Thou, they now spent less time with only two of them, they would always have Tee with them. Or when Nan and Nuerna had class without Tee, the two would take seat with other classmates as well so they're not alone together.

"It's good. I think you can send to me to compile because I did the first part." Tee nodded to Nan's word. Nan then walked back to sit at his seat earlier. Nuerna quickly focused on his laptop, doing his part. Tee exhaled.

"How's going there with you, Nuerna?" Tee asked. Nuerna blinked as he turned to Tee.

"Ah, almost finish. I- I will send it soon... to Nan, right?" Nuerna said glancing at Nan. Nan just gave a nod. The three stayed silent for a while as they're finishing their own part. As Tee already finished first, he did other assignment after sending his part to Nan.

"Nan, I have finished and sent to you." Nuerna said suddenly. Nan nodded again as he checked his mail.

"Got it, let me compile and look through for final check."

"Thanks, Nan." Both Tee and Nuerna said. A pause of silence again before Tee suddenly spoke. He caught Nuerna looking at Nan again and he had enough. After all, they shouldn't continue like this. Even though they looked fine, Tee knew they both feel awkward inside.

"Nuerna."

"Huh?"

"Can you answer me sincerely?"

"What?" Nuerna frowned at Tee's inquiry. Tee smiled.

"You like Nan, do you?"

Nan startled at the sudden question from Tee and looked up at his friend. "Tee!"

Tee exhaled. "Come on, Nan. I'm tired already of you two keep dancing around without addressing the elephant in the room. Since that day, the day I caught you two almost kiss. What I know, you two haven't talk about it right?"

Nuerna scratched his nape and looked down while nodding. Nan covered his cheeks as he felt it turned warm when Tee blatantly mentioned about that day.

"So, I want you two to talk. Let's be clear with each other. Waiting you two to talk by your own, maybe you gotta wait till our graduation day or something." Tee said sarcastically. Nan gave a disapproving look at Tee. Tee shrugged. "Nuerna?"

"I-" Nuerna got tongue-tied.

Nan glanced at Nuerna who looked down. He exhaled. "If you don't want to say anything, it's fine. But can I say from my side?" Nan suddenly said. He didn't know where the courage coming from but he did want to let it out. Tee knew Nan only needed some push. He knew Nan, Nan didn't like to be in a grey situation, he's a black-white type. That's why he decided to be the catalyst so that Nan would try to talk first. Tee didn't know why but he had a feeling Nuerna was afraid or something.

Nuerna finally looked up to Nan. Nan gave a smile. "I do like you. I don't know when but believe me, I found you attractive since the first time you're introduced to us. I just... mesmerised. I thought at first, ah maybe it's just some kind of admiration because look at you. You have such god-like appearance, I wish to be lean and tall like you." Nan chuckled lightly. "But after spending some time and knowing you, it's just... I just realized I'm falling as well. So... I like you."
