Chapter 11 - Chunin Exams Part 1

Y/n pov

After dad arrived, everyone gave him the application forms and got seated. I sat beside the guy from a few days ago, I think his name was Gaara.

"Hi. Gaara, right?" I greeted.

"Hello and yes" He said.

"Well, good luck!" I told him and he nodded.

"Not much of a speaker I see" Tora said and I inwardly nodded.

"Hello my name is Ibiki Morino and I am the first proctor for these exams. There are many important rules to this first test, I'll write it on the board while I explain but questions will not be allowed, so listen carefully."

"The first rule: You guys will all start off with 10 points. The test is made up of 10 questions and watch one is worth a point but this test uses a subtraction system. Basically, if you answer all the questions correctly, you keep your 10 points but say if you miss three questions, you lose three points and will have 7. "

" The second Rule: This is a team test. Whether you pass or not will be determined by the combined score of your teammates, so watch team will compete to see how many points they can hold on to from the initial team total of 30."

"The third rule: Everyone that is caught cheating will have 2 points subtracted for every offense. When you are caught cheating 5 times, you'll be asked to leave."

"And the final rule: Those that lose all their initial points during the test and those that don't answer any questions correctly will be failed along with their 2 teammates. Now begin"

With that, everyone turned their sheets around and began. I looked it over and realized that even an advanced Chunin would have problems answering it.

I sensed around the room until I found what I searched for, two Chunin dressed up as Genin. I smirked and linked myself to Naruto.

'Naruto' I said.

'Yeah?' He answered.

'Need help or can you do it on your own?' I asked. He wasn't as dumb as he acted.

'I think I'm fine but what do you think the tenth question will be?' He replied.

'Ibiki is my adoptive dad and raised me. Plus, I'm working for him. I know him, the tenth question will probably be something to test your will to continue something under certain circumstances.' I told him.

'Yeah you're probably right' He sighed.

'I always am' I said.

The timer went off and everyone looked at dad, excluding me. I 'looked' out of the window towards the tree where I sensed someone.

I didn't care about listening but every few minutes, I tuned in to know what's going on.

Dad told us about the tenth question and not being able to ever participate again, if you didn't get it right.

One after the other, people left.

'Tch weaklings. If you can't even stand this small pressure, how do you want to survive in the shinobi world?' I thought.

I 'looked' around the room to 'see' Sasuke looking at Naruto and Sakura glaring at me, as if threatening me to not raise my arm.

I sighed, knowing how little trust she had in me or maybe it was because I was getting along with Sasuke?

"Probably both" I heard Tora say.

I sighed again and cut off my chakra vision, too tired to keep it up.

"Don't underestimate me!! I will not run!!! I'll take it!! Even if I'm a genin forever! I'll will myself to becoming Hokage anyway so I don't care!! I am not afraid!!" Naruto screamed.

'You trying to show off and prove Sasuke and Sakura that you aren't a scaredy cat?' I asked Naruto through our mind link.

'Noooooo okay maybe' He answered.

"Well if nobody else is going to go" Dad began and nobody moved "I'm going to tell you one more thing and that is that you all.. passed!"

The people in the room started to ramble as to why we had passed when suddenly, a chakra signature coming towards the window.

'Tora' I said not listening to the woman talking at the front. 'I can identify a bit of Lord Orochimaru's chakra in her, you think she was one of his subordinates?'

"You think that she isn't anymore?" Tora asked.

'No, I don't. The chakra is too small and her curse mark feels like it's been inactive for a while now' I told her and she hummed.

"Nee Y/n-chan, let's go home" I heard and looked to see dad standing in front of me and the room empty.

"Huh? Did everyone already leave?" I asked myself, looking around.

"Yes, let's go. You have to sleep you eat because the second exam is with Anko" He said.

"Uh who?" I asked.

"The woman Inoichi and I work with sometimes" He told me.

"Ahh, nee Dad?" I asked and he hummed "She was one's a subordinate to Lord Orochimaru, right?"

"Yes, but that was a long time ago. Now, make yourself something to eat and go to bed" He said and went into his room.

I hummed and went into my room, of course not eating.
