An Angel Fell to Earth Today

(Todoroki x NB! Reader)

His world was dull. He'd wake up to see the same gray skies outside his dorm room. He'd lie to himself, saying that it didn't matter to him and that this was the way it should be.

That was his number one rule.

No distractions.

It was the day of the tournament. Todoroki stands on the line, waiting for the start of the race. He blocks any outside sounds, centering himself.

He gets into position. The world standing still all around him. Not a single sound in the arena.

"Go!"

And they were off. He shots ahead, feeling a sharp drop in temperature in his left hand.

"Todoroki takes a small lead!"

Good, he thought. This should be a simple race if Bakugo remained behind him.

"Hold on, ladies and gentlemen! We might have a competitor for the number one spot."

The dual haired boy frowns, turning back.

There they were, a water guardian running past them. You briefly catch eyes.

Such a gorgeous E/C. He loses brief concentration, forgetting the robots that stood in your path. He breaks eye contact, panic settles in.

A robot was ahead of you and with your eyes pinned on him, you had no way to defend yourself. He quickly looks back at you.

"Watch ou-" You quickly disperse your protector, forming a sharp object. You quickly grab ahold of his collar, pulling him into your shield. The water rushes into his ears. He didnt take an appropriate amount of air before you grabbed him, so time was ticking.

With your arms around his torso, you swing your weapon into the robots lower leg. He watches as your weapon cuts through the metal like butter.

But, you lose your footing, sending you both into the track. You cushion his fall, cradling his head as you rolled onto the dirt.

Your quirk deactivates, water falling off you like blanket. He takes a deep breath, trying to get his lungs working.

"You alright?" He hears. He doesnt say anything, but he does look up.

And just like that his world stopped spinning. Those same eyes.

They felt so safe to be lost in. It may have been a simple E/C, but to him, it was as if he was transported into a separate realm.

Water sloshed around you, coiling you like a magnet. Just its presence alone made him intimidated. The sun peers through your waves, giving off a turquoise pattern on the world below his fingertips. You stood there like a god, here to bless him with your beauty.

Like an angel.

Yes, an angel.

"Are you okay?" Your voice woke him up form his daze.

"Y-yes yes. I'm alright." You outstretched your hand, nodding for him to take it.

Todoroki takes it, taking note of how your skin seemed dry despite being underwater no more than 5 minutes ago.

Yet, it was cool to the touch.

"Alright!" You smile. "I guess I'll see you around on different circumstances." The same water guardian morphs below your feet, hoisting you up.

And just like that, you were gone, doing your own thing to make up for the lost time.

He stood there, frowning. He was disappointed- no, upset- that he didnt ask for your name or class. Something to associate you with.

Something to put a glass slipper on.

He shakes his head, forcing himself into a sprint. He's lost too much time thinking about you.

He freezes the ground, skating ahead fellow racers.

He'll figure you out later. Right now, he had a race to finish.
