Feeling angsty so take an angsty one I guess

(Tenya Iida x NB! Reader)

When they were younger, the world gave nothing less than everything to them. Everyone would flaunt for them, get on one knee for them or take the fall when necessary.

This power over their fellow peers made them an unofficial superior.

No one could touch them, feel them or even get near them.

Until the last year of middle school.

Someone had brought them down to size, a size so small and pathetic, it ruined their reputation.

They tried pleading their case

"he was the one who cheated on me."

"I didn't do anything."

But, no one listened.

And their days of total control ended right then.

Over the next couple of weeks, they made acquaintance to the lower population. Surprisingly, their group was nothing short but loving and protective.

It filled holes of loneliness and quenched their thirst for belonging.

But, some were still left untouched. They hated feeling the dull ache of betrayal, but hearing them say they would never let it happen again...

It eased it.

"What would you want to be, Y/N?" Magnus would ask.

Having never thought that far, Y/N would shift it back to her

"Oh!" The girl would beam at the question. "I was thinking about enrolling into the Japan hero school."

"Really, Mags?" They'd clamor.

Her fairly white skin bloomed into a light shade of rose as she shoos away the group's surprise.

"Well, I just think I'd make it. I have a good mutation. If I practice with it a bit more, I'm sure they'll take me."

Y/N would chew slowly, soaking the response in word for word.

Heroism?

They've never thought of such a career. It was naturally dangerous and unpredictable, something they weren't a fond of anymore.

Yet... At the same time...

"Hm. I think it'll suit you, Magnus."

Her white eyes gleamed.

"You really think so?"

They'd nod and the girl brought them into a tight squeeze.

"I knew you weren't so bad."

Their world has changed since then. Magnus and several others had made it in under the transfer program.

Y/N, though last choice, took it as well. They never understood why. Maybe it was the fact that all of their friends were more than overjoyed about hearing they got in.

They couldn't bear the thought of letting them down so early in their friendship.

So, here they were, in between one of their friends Kai and a frog girl they've met at the training center a week back.

Tsuyu, they remembered, watching the girl scribble notes across her notebook.

"Y/N?" You turn to face your winged friend.
