Haven't wrote a Shoto one in a minute so
Here you go 。.゚+ ⟵(。・ω・)
That look so dumb my bad 😔
Also warning ⚠️⚠️ for slight racism(?) What do you call someone that racist to a man with a quirk and mentions of torture.

(Shoto Todoroki x NB! Reader)
"And don't get him on the topic of sports. He'll talk your ears off." You mention as you approached your house.
Shoto only laughs at your desperate attempts. You spoke so fondly of your dad, but the moment he offered to meet him, you were instantly against his sports addiction.
"Also, please don't ask about the weird collection of drawings on the wall. He keeps everything I made for him and its honestly embarrassing."
"Okay okay. I won't ask."
You pause briefly on your steps, turning to him to smooth out his shirt. He could see your eyes radiate a sense of calm. An expression that he hasn't seen all day.
"You dressed nice."
Shoto almost didn't catch that. He flusters lightly, readjusting his footing and avoiding your gaze.
A scoff leaves your lips before you press a gentle kiss on his jaw.
"Okay. I think you're ready, Todoroki." You announce. He simply nods.
You knock gently on the door, sighing as you waited for your old man to open up.
"Hey, Sweet pea. I'm just finishing dinner and-" he stops the moment he makes eye contact with your boyfriend.
"Shoto, right?" He says, towel in his hands.
"Yes sir."
Your dad takes his hand, giving it a stern grip and shake.
"Nice to meet you. They talk about you all the time."
Your heart spikes briefly. But, before you could protest, your dad ushers you inside.
~~~~~~~~
"I work as a chemist for a couple of costume companies, which I didn't know was a position."
His eyes were a bit kinder than earlier. Perhaps he was loosening up or the Todoroki charm was working. Shoto nods, taking another bite of the seafood galore your father made.
"But enough about me"
Oh God. You could feel yourself physically cringe at his next statement.
"Shoto, I saw your performance in the tournament, man."
Thank the Lords above.
"I hate to say it, but I'm impressed. I rarely say that to anyone since my child is the only impressive one ever."
"Dad."
He raises his hand in surrender.
"But, your mutation- oh, sorry about that- quirk is an absolutely beautiful combination of two very opposite forces."
Your father wasn't much of "Go Team!" kind of man. He was the soccer mom that made sure everyone knew his child was top tier.
"Back at home, I rarely encountered such a power. We uh..." He paused.
This was sensitive territory. You could already see him contemplate on backing out, but the moment his sea green eyes meets your boyfriend mismatched ones, filled with curiosity and the want to know more about him, he buckled.
"We didn't allow such a... Big power. They used to put these little suppressive gadgets on us whenever started showing signs of a mutation- that's what we used to call it- and any use of it could trigger a painful reaction. They used to have this uh..."
The suit.
"Suit that would increase their body temperature to vaporize any water in their body."
He smiles briefly, pain in his eyes as he picked at his food.
"And I hated seeing it. I hated not being able to do anything about it. They would freak out as a child, crying and screaming because the heat was too much. But, I couldn't take it off. It was government orders for each mutated child to "be able to be a cooperative citizen to society"."
The scars that littered your skin flashes through Shoto's mind. He'd ask about them once before but, you simply brushed it off as an accident.
"But, after coming here, seeing your absolute monster of a quirk go off and the confidence you ignited in them to release that magnificent finisher..." He takes his hands in his.
Tears were rolling down now, wetting his beard a bit.
"I just wanted to say thank you. You may think you didn't do much or anything at all, but you did a number on them and me. If there was anyone I wanted my people back at home to look up to, to know that they mattered and they shouldn't be forced to hide their gifts, it'd be you, Shoto."
He ruffles his hair, a father like smile on his face.
"I'm proud of you. Proud of you both. You've come so far from being just a Todoroki and you from where we once were."
There was a silence that fell over the three of you. Shoto looks up to your dad, his chocolate and sky blue eyes sparkles as he nods.
"But, who cares about the sad shit? I sure as hell don't! Y/N, did you hear about that football game between the Titans and 49ers?"
"27- 9 Titans."
"Goddammit 9ers." He slumps down in his chair, beginning his endless rant on how his team plays like shit.
Despite not knowing what the two of you were talking about, he enjoyed your high spirits despite having a rough conversation.
That was what a family dinner feels like.
Talks about sports, school updates and heart to hearts.
As you both settled in your room (because your dad physically blocked the door off and ordered you both to your room. "He's never slept over." "Well, he's a grown man. He knows what's not gonna happen in my house. Especially on the bed my child sleeps on), you made a decision for him to take his usual spot by the wall.
You slip under the covers, opening your arms to him to slither into. Taking in your salty seas smell, he hums.
"Thank you for dealing with him. He's passionate about his 49ers." He chuckled.
"I didn't even know what you were talking about." Shoto lifts his head to see you.
"Football? American sport? The NFL?"
He shakes his head.
"There's a game today and you're watching it with us then.
"Mhm." He smothers himself into you. Your careful fingers comb through his red and white locks.
"Love you."
"Love you too."
I... This isn't my best and you could tell. But, I have this like headcanon that America has an issue with those with quirks so, they pulled an X-Men on them with ranking and stuff.
And looking at how hesitant they were when [[[[[SPOILER FOR THE LATEST CHAPTERS]]]]
That they didn't give Stars and Stripes an automatic yes and said we taking your license after this.Kind of fits. Also, them giving the pro heroes from Japan the upmost respect but, to those who moved out and are still citizens, they oppress again and again. Making them witness them in centers before being able to enter the country to apply their shackles and chains and saying "you must wait outside Mr. Allmight." And you walking out with a collar because you have a dog like quirk or some shit.
I could talk endlessly about this but, yeah </3
