Love Me? Always.~Rex

A/N: we're so close to the end and I'm so sad 😞

"Have you ever thought about wanting more?" Ahsoka asked as the two of you made your way through the Jedi temple.

You looked at her quizzically as the two of you kept walking.

"Honestly, not really" you replied.

She sounded shocked when she asked, "Really?!"

"What more could I want?" You laughed as you walked side by side with Ahsoka.

Ahsoka chuckled too, "Well, General, are you sure there's not someone you want? Like a certain Captain, I know of?"

You stopped in your tracks and looked at Ahsoka with wide eyes. Glancing down at the floor, a deep blush spread across your cheeks.

She was right. There was, in fact, a certain captain you wanted, but you couldn't. You didn't think you could, at least.

Ahsoka chuckled once more, this time at your blushing. "See you around General," she said, placing a hand to your arm shortly before walking off.

You stayed standing in the middle of the busy temple hallway.

You were baffled that someone knew about your secret crush. You thought you had been quiet about it but you guess it was obvious.

As you continued to stand in the bust hallway, thinking about Rex, you were brought out of your thoughts when someone touched your shoulder.

Jumping back slightly, you looked behind you to find none other than Rex himself.

With his helmet underneath his arm, he smiled at your jumpiness.

"My apologies. I didn't mean to scare you"

You gave him a small smile in return and glanced around the hallway before turning back to him.

"No worries Rex. I was in deep thought anyway"

Rex cocked an eyebrow, "Deep thought about what?"

Your eyes widened at the pretense you may be caught thinking about him.

You blushed, "Umm" you hesitated. "It's not important" you laughed off awkwardly.

Rex just smiled at you and for a second you thought that maybe he did know you had been thinking about him, but you shook the thought from your mind.

"Well, cyar'ika, while I have your attention, I wanted to show you something"

"Rex, when are you ever going to tell me what cyar'ika means?" you fidgeted while you looked at him, waiting to answer.

You had a feeling it was a lovey-dovey nickname of some sort, but you didn't know exactly what.

Rex just shrugged his shoulders, "Maybe one day"

You rolled your eyes and he began walking down the hallway.

You followed closely behind him, trying to keep your thoughts occupied with Jedi business and not the man walking closely beside you, his hand brushing yours now and then.

As the two of you approached the gardens of the Jedi temple, you noticed it had been raining outside.

You were so preoccupied with Ahsoka earlier and thinking about Rex, you hadn't realized it was pouring outside.

Right before Rex was going to step out into the rain, you placed your hand on his arm and stopped him.

"Rex, it's raining" you huffed.

"I know cyare" and he grabbed your hand that you had placed on his arm.

Smirking at you slightly, he led you into the pouring rain.

As you gradually became more and more drenched, you giggled.

Rex would spin you around every now and then and the both of you would laugh as you jumped into puddles.

Stopping to take a breath, you asked Rex, "So this is what you wanted to show me? That it was raining?"

He didn't answer for a second as he stepped closer to you.

Looking up at him slightly, you noticed he was only mere inches from you, his hand not once leaving yours.

You let out a quiet breath as the reality of the moment set in.

Rex was so close to your face. You could feel his breath fan over your lips and roll down your neck.

"No, cyar'ika" he finally spoke. "This is what I wanted to show you"

He placed his hand on your cheek and the other leaving your hand and pulling you close to him by your waist.

As he slowly leaned down to meet your lips, you let out a small gasp.

The kiss was soft at first. He had taken you by surprise.

As Rex slowly moved with your lips, you fell into it. You placed both of your hands to his jaw and the kiss intensified.

It became passionate. Water dripping down your faces made the kiss slippery but made it so much sweeter.

The both of your lips moved together with time, each fighting for dominance, but you letting him win out in the end.

You pulled each other close and sighed into the kiss just as he would grunt into it as well.

Pulling apart breathlessly, he placed his forehead on yours and chuckled and this caused you to smile.

Wiping some droplets of water off of your cheek with his thumb, "I love you" he said breathlessly.

You pulled away from him a small bit out of shock.

He just said he loved me, you thought.

For a second you thought you had been dreaming all of this, but as you glanced back up at Rex he leaned in to kiss you once more.

You didn't hesitate to kiss him back this time.

Just like before, the kiss was passionate and slippery. As you fought for dominance, he let you win and you took over.

You tried pulling him closer and Rex moaned a bit when you bit his lip.

You could feel Rex smile against your lips as he asked permission with his tongue to enter your mouth.

Standing in the rain, both of you drenched, he explored your mouth with his tongue and sighed into it each second you could.

Quickly running out of air, you left one more long kiss on his lips.

Smiling as you two pulled apart you asked, "You love me?" looking up at him as he brushed a piece of hair away from your face.

With the biggest and sweetest smile you had ever seen, "Always."
