The tablet he carries shows the abilities he can use, from any anime or manga. It is not essential for use, but it helps with clarifying what the ability does and HOW to use it. And any ability he uses also gives him the prerequisite. EX: Chakra, Eldian blood, etc, etc. And anything he uses that would cause something permanent, like making himself a jinchuriki, that would then make that permanent. Even when not using the ability, that tailed beast would have its own consciousness, and would not disappear. Making himself a 5 leaf grimoire would permanently enable him to interact with the demon, etc. Also, if he uses abilities from a certain jump world, let's say naruto. If he uses chakra A LOT, then something interesting happens, that will happen later. Also, he cannot just go "Eternal mangekyou Sharingan!". The moves like that progress with him. Also, regarding the mangekyou's blinding, Bishimon, the being who gave him his power, will take care of it. And, with training, he may be able to unlock certain aspects of his abilities.
