Chapter Twenty Three

Win arrived at their house and their maid opened the front door for him
"Thank you." he said to her
His parents were already sitting around the dining table
"Son." Win's dad greeted him
Win greeted him back, "Dad." and he hugged his father
Win greeted her mother, "Mom." and he gave her a light kiss on her cheek before hugging her
"Jennie." Win was obviously shocked to see Jennie
Jennie smiled at him, "Hi, Winnie."
"What are you doing here?" Win asked, sitting across from her
His dad said, "She has something to tell us."
Win gave Jennie a confused look then he asked, "Wait, where are my siblings?"
His mother answered, "Your two sisters are busy running the Souri shop while Mick is out in the mall with his friends."
Win slowly nodded at her
His father looked at Jennie, "Yes, Jennie? What are you gonna say to us?"
Jennie let out a heavy deep breath first and smiled again
She announced, "I'm pregnant." that caused Win to widen his eyes
Win mumbled, "What?"
Win's dad laughed in so much happiness
His dad said, "That's a very good news."
'How could that be?' Win wanted to ask but he didn't
Jennie smiled at him, "You're going to be a father now, Win."
Win's dad said, "Congratulations to the both of you."
All Win could do was to drink a whole glass of water
His mother asked him, "Aren't you happy, son?"
Win plainly said, "I just can't believe it, mom."
'What are you doing, Jennie?' Win thought as he stared at Jennie who was talking to his father with a smile on her face.
"I know you'll be a good father, my baby." his mother said, caressing his cheek
"Thank you, mother." Win gave her a genuine smile
Win's dad said, "Before we announce this, you two should be engaged first."
"WHAT?" Win couldn't help but to snap
Win mumbled, "I'm sorry." and he looked at the foods in front of him
Jennie smiled, "I agree, uncle."
"I'm just gonna use the bathroom." Win stood up and went to the bathroom upstairs
He dialed his sister Ice's number
"Ice!" Win said as soon as Ice answered the call
"You're home right now, right? Tell mom —"
Win cut her off, "Listen to me first." then he continued, "Jennie is pregnant."
Ice reacted, "WHAT?" and Win had to put his phone away from his ear for a second
Win said, "I don't even know how that happened."
His sister asked him, "You two never done it?"
Win immediately responded, "No, never."
Ice asked, "Then she's just lying?"
Win sighed, "Maybe? I don't know what she's up to."
"Why would she even up to something?" Ice's next question
She added, "Don't leave yet. Wait for me there."
Win said, "Alright, I'll wait for you in my room." then he ended the call

Win went back to the kitchen.
He said, "Sorry if I took long. Ice called me." and he went back on his seat
Win added, "Uhm, speaking of which I'll be staying 'cause Ice wants me to wait for her."
His father said, "Then Jennie will stay too."
Win simply sighed
Jennie smiled, "It's okay, uncle. I have to meet my manager later."
Win's dad said, "Then Win will drop you off."
Win smiled a little and nodded at his dad

Win was gonna drop Jennie off at her place.
"Why did you tell my parents that you're pregnant when we both know that you're really not?" Win asked trying to remain calm
Jennie answered, "I have to." and when the traffic light turned red, Win looked at her
"What?" Win asked, merely a whisper
"We'll be engaged a few days from now, Winnie. I'm so happy." Jennie dodged the topic
Win shook his head in pure disbelief

"I'm here now." Ice said, entering Win's room.
Win sit up on his bed
Ice sit beside him, "Tell me what happened details by details."
"Uhm, ..." Win didn't know where to start
Ice sit beside him, "Okay, start with Bright." that caused Win to widen his eyes at her
"You know about him?" Win asked in pure disbelief
Ice nodded, "Yeah." then she added, "I was unsure about it when the first time I saw you together in Amanpuri."
"You were also there?" Win asked, still couldn't believe what his sister was saying
Ice nodded, "Uh-huh." then she added, "Amanpuri is one of Souri's partners and we supply them desserts."
"I was there when you and Bright sang in the restaurant. I thought you would see me ..." Ice let out a small laugh
Ice added, "I just froze in my position. I couldn't believe what was happening right in front of me."
Win held her hands, "I'm so sorry, Ice."
Ice chuckled, "Why are you saying sorry?"
"I know what Bright and I have is wrong —"
Ice cut him off, "Hey, I know that you're old enough to know about that."
"I'm not saying this to be an enabler, but I saw how happy you were with him. You are yourself when you're with
Bright and you don't need to hold yourself back." Ice gave Win an assuring smile
Ice added, "And if you're wondering how did I know Bright's name, well, your man is quite famous around the country." and Win chuckled at that
Ice kept on speaking, "Jennie must've found out about you and Bright."
Win's smile faded, "Maybe? Because she was also in Amanpuri. She might've saw me with Bright."
"And telling mom and dad that she's pregnant is her way for you not to dump her." Ice said while nodding 'cause
she was finally getting the situation
Win nodded as well then he sighed, "I was ready to tell mom and dad about Bright today, but then Jennie
ruined my plan."
Ice asked him, "Does your friends know?"
Win answered, "Yeah, except for New 'cause I know that he wouldn't take it that well."
"You gotta tell him sooner before Jennie makes her move again." Ice said, caressing Win's hands
Ice smiled at him, "We'll sort this out, okay? I'm here." and Win pulled her for a hug
"Thank you, Ice." Win couldn't help but to cry
"Geez, Win, you're literally a 6 ft man and the way you cry is like you're younger than Mick." Ice chuckled, patting
Win's back
Win pulled away and rolled his eyes at his sister
Ice smiled, "I'm just kidding." and helped Win wipe his tears
She added, "I'll fill Ming in. I know she'll be a big help to us."
Win nodded at her
