*Ivy POV*
I felt like I was in an endless pit, spinning around while I fell. I couldn't see or feel anything except cold and black. The place was timeless and held no perception of direction or matter.
My body was numb and I was too tired to care about trying to move.
For once in my life I didn't analyse anything. I couldn't be bothered to think. I just faded in and out of sleep.
It was then when I heard a voice. When I finally tried to remember what was the reason for me being in this state.
At the back of my head I knew who was speaking. I just had to remember.
Ava.
Ava.
Ava.
"Ava" help me.
*Ava POV*
I woke up with the birds but I didn't get up. I just closed my eyes and didn't move.
"Ava" a weak whisper came from beside me and I shot up.
"Ivy?"
Her eyes flickered and her mouth opened to murmur something else, something I couldn't hear.
I watched in silence, mentally cheering Ivy on. In a few minutes I was shaking her lightly, and voicing my pleads for her to get up.
When her eyes finally opened and stayed that way (well, they blinked a few times but that's besides the point) I grabbed the first aid kit and some food and water.
"Ivy? Are you ok?"
"What do you think." She hissed in pain.
I help her sit up and place the food and water in front of her.
"Eat." She sighed at me and obeyed.
"You've been out for absolute ages. I did my best to help. Reese is still gone."
"Why haven't you gone to find him?"
"Because it'd be dangerous to just leave you with all these injuries." I answered in a matter-of-fact way.
A faint smile appeared on Ivy's face and I noticed a tear sliding down her cheek.
"I'm alive, right?"
I snorted "Yeah, obviously. Very bruised and cut up as if you were attacked by a cat, but congratulations; you're alive."
Ivy nodded and pulled herself off the bed. "Ivy, stop." She took a deep breath and pushed her body up to her feet, stumbling forward.
"Ivy!" I rushed to her side and caught her in my arms when she lost balance and fell.
"I need to find him."
"Ivy."
I picked her up and put her back into bed, rolling my eyes at her protests.
I sat on the side of the bed, listening to her complain and question me until she finally fell asleep. Then I went out to breathe some air, and took care of my plants before leaning against the tree and just crying.
Crying of relief and grief, and some other stuff I can't be bothered to explain.
I was just tired.
Exhausted. Absolutely burnt out.
But I had my responsibilities, and in the end I returned back inside and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
A/n how are you? Have you slept? Please take care of yourself and don't keep putting off that one thing you're most likely supposed to be doing right now <3
