*Ava's POV*
"Ava, wake up." these were the first words I heard when I surfaced from my wonderful dream about a book I had once read. I groaned and swatted at the voice, "Five more minutes." but I was ignored.
"Get up, it's time for breakfast. 'Early birds get the worms' as they say."
"Who the heck says that? The finger-less zombie down the street?" I turned to her, forcing my eyes to open. She stared at me with such intensity it felt as if my very soul was being judged.
"Gosh, that's a lot of blood." I observed, staring at her cut up face before rubbing my eyes and seeing swirls of purple and red. I lied still for a few more seconds and finally sat up with a yawn. Ivy sat up already and tried to stretch before giving up when I can assume her body decided it was time to feel pain. I didn't blame the body, because as anyone would guess surviving an explosion caused quite a lot of bruises and harm. That would hurt.
I blinked hard and tried to wake my mind up to stop rambling on and on about some useless topic.
"I know it's only the morning but I feel the least emotion early in the day so I'm going to ask you now. What the hell happened?" My voice was groggy and loud, but it got the point across.
"What happened when?" Ivy asked, creating the urge for me to slap myself. Or her. I wasn't sure.
"When the bomb you built went off. What else would I ask about?"
"I do not know, Ava. Maybe about potatoes. I have not had the time to decipher your thought process."
"You sound like a robot."
"Maybe you just need to wake up properly." She replied with a groan of disappointment that was most definitely directed at my delightful self.
"Well I love how enthusiastic you are about answering my god dang question." I spat out with gritted teeth. She just shoved me backwards and sighed when I fell right off the bed like a drunk maniac.
"Fine. I'll get us breakfast." I muttered while picking myself off the floor.

We ate peacefully and I helped her walk around even though it seemed like pure agony.
"It feels as if I'm Ariel first walking on land." She commented while pulling herself to the kitchen counter to grab a cracker.
"What a ray of sunshine you are." I smirked, grabbing it before she could. I smiled even more at her glaring daggers at me.
"I'll answer your question if we go to the crime scene." Ivy told me, and I handed the cracker over to her before making my way to the door.
"Be careful, I have stuff to do." And on my way I went.
