LISA'S POV
I'm currently in the guest bedroom, searching up nice restaurants that Jennie might like for me to take her to later tonight.
Luckily, I tricked Jennie into giving me some alone time.
Since I've been showing more interest in my classes and spending extra time studying, Jennie gives me space to do it. She's proud of me, and she doesn't question it.
So, she doesn't know what I'm actually doing right now. I just really want to plan something sweet for her.
She deserves the absolute best in life, and I want to be the one to give that to her.
I finally find a highly-rated restaurant that isn't out of my budget, and I quickly call to book a reservation for 7 p.m. tonight.
I can't wait to treat my girl!
After finalizing everything, I pretend like I'm just taking a short break from studying so that I can hang out with Jennie on the couch.
Jennie gives me a warm smile and moves aside, making space for me to sit next to her.
She wraps her arms around me and pulls me closer while she continues watching TV. I can't help but snuggle into her embrace and relax against her warmth.
God, I love this girl so much. I'm so excited to surprise her later.
As I said, I already have everything planned out. At 6 p.m. I'm going to tell her to dress up. Then I'll blindfold her, guide her to the car, and drive her straight to the restaurant.
We'll eat delicious food, and afterward, I'll take her to an art museum that stays open at night.
Jennie's parents pass by us, and when Jennie isn't paying attention, they give me thumbs up. I can't help but laugh, and Jennie looks at me weirdly, but I quickly tell her it was just a joke on the TV.
She lets it go, but when I glance back, her parents are still smiling at me knowingly.
I had to tell them the plan. They seemed to like it, no, they loved it.
I'm so happy I got their approval. Now, I just have to wait a few more hours for Jennie's approval too.
IRENE'S POV
"Why are we at their house again?" Kai asked for the third time. God damn it, this kid is an annoying idiot.
The only reason I'm tolerating him is because I want to get back at Jennie and Lisa.
"For the plan to work, we need to know when they go out. The problem is we don't know their schedule, so we have to watch them. When they both leave the house, we follow them," I explain to him, already irritated.
"Ugh, we've been here for hours. What if they don't go anywhere today?" Kai whines.
"Then we come back tomorrow," I reply through gritted teeth.
"What? We have to do this again? But it's already nighttime. I don't want to sit here all day tomorrow again," he added, pouting like a child.
Then I notice the front door of Jennie's house opening, and out come Jennie and Lisa.
They're all dressed up for some reason. Jennie looks stunning as always. Damn, I would love to rip that dress off her.
Then I focus on Lisa, who is hugging Jennie. That bitch! She's atrocious. Does she really think she can outdo me in a dress?
Ha! Yeah right. I have no idea what's going on in Jennie's mind. Why did she pick that skinny little girl over me? I'm so much more than her.
They are most likely going out, so I immediately start the car and turn to Kai.
"Looks like today is going to work out in our favor."
Jennie and Lisa get in their car and drive off. I'm right behind them, tailing them quietly until we arrive at their destination.
They park in the lot of a restaurant, and we do the same. Jennie and Lisa get out of the car and go inside, but Kai and I stay behind, watching.
"How are we going to get a picture of Jennie kissing you if Lisa is here?" Kai asks me.
"Simple, you distract Lisa while I work on Jennie," I reply confidently.
"Okay, but I'm not sure Jennie would try to kiss you. She never seemed like the type of person to cheat," Kai added nervously.
"I know. That's why I brought this." I hold up a small bag of pills.
"What's that?" he asks, wide-eyed.
"Rohypnol. If we slip it in her drink, it'll make her a bit loopy. She'll be more compliant and won't remember anything," I explain.
"Oh, so she won't fight against you kissing her and taking the picture," Kai states stupidly.
The fucking moron. Obviously, that's what I meant. I just nod my head in agreement, not wasting my breath on him.
The truth is, I just need this idiot's help to distract Lisa. I have far better plans for Jennie than the one I told Kai.
If Jennie tried to explain the situation to Lisa later, Lisa would believe her. So my real plan is to take a compromising picture of Jennie—something she can't talk her way out of.
I'll use those pictures to force Jennie to break up with Lisa. Then, Jennie will be mine.
Of course, it will only be because I'm blackmailing her, but still anything to make sure I win and that Lisa loses.
That bitch will regret ever getting me mad.
Kai and I get out of the car and head inside to enact the plan.
This is going to be fun.
CHITTHIP'S POV (Lisa's Mom)
I glance at my phone and stare at the number of missed calls from the social worker.
I know I'm in big trouble now.
I deserve every bad thing coming my way. I'm a horrible excuse for a human being.
I know it, I fucked up.
Who knew running out of money and not being able to buy alcohol, then going through withdrawal, would be so eye-opening for me?
God! I'm shaking so badly. My whole body trembles. I have a killer headache, I can't stop throwing up, and I keep sweating through my clothes.
Fuck, I'm probably going to die. And honestly? I deserve to. I'm a horrible person.
Even worse, I'm a terrible mother. I haven't seen my daughter in days.
I wonder if she still cares about me. Would she care if I died? Maybe. Maybe not.
Who knows?
She deserves a better mother. Not a depressed alcoholic who can't even take care of herself.
Maybe if I just lay down, I can slip away peacefully in my sleep. I move off the couch and sit on the floor.
I lie back and close my eyes. I'm still shaking like crazy, but I force my eyelids shut.
Right before I drift off, I snap my eyes open suddenly.
"The money!" I shout to myself.
I need to tell Lisa about the money. I need to tell her before I die. The money will go to waste if I don't tell her.
I shakily push myself up and groggily walk to the door. I grab my keys and step outside, not even bothering to close the door behind me.
It's not like I have anything valuable left for anyone to steal.
I stumble to my car and drive toward Jennie's house. The social worker had sent me the address in a text, trying to convince me to visit my daughter.
I should have gone earlier, but I couldn't. Not then.
Now I have to.
