Freak - Silverchair
Lennon
I'm standing against the cold metal fence of the water park. Hands crossed over my chest with the bottom of my boot pressed up against it.
It took a lot of me pointing fingers and talking to myself in front of the bathroom mirror to actually convince myself but I'm here.
Originally, I was just going to stay in and draw or do something boring like I usually do but guess who showed up right on schedule? Brian. My mom knows I can't stand him yet she completely ignores anything I have to say. She chooses her scumbag boss over her own daughter which is not surprising.
So getting out of my house tonight was my only option and I knew I had nowhere else to go other than here, because well, this is where I've been spending half my nights, watching from the sidelines and now in going to be meeting some of these people.
I was early though, only because I was nervous and I tend to do that. I psych myself out to where I always show up to things early which is stupid because then I look too forward or too eager and it's just a whole damn thing.
Yasmine said to be here at ten.
I reached into the pocket of my black low rise jeans, flipping open my phone to see it was currently nine-thirty, no wonder why nobody was here besides a few bikers practicing some tricks down the water slides. I'm guessing all the skaters will be going to this party.
I sighed as I leaned the back of my head up against the fence only to shoot my hand up over my eyes when a pair of headlights which turned suddenly into high beams began to glare directly onto my face.
"Seriously?" I scoffed as I squinted my eyes. The car came to a stop in the parking lot and the lights went out thankfully, but my stomach dropped as I watched the driver's side door open.
At first, my eyes fell onto a pair of black combat boots stepping out of the car along with loud rock music spilling from out of the door. I recognized the song Anarchy In The UK by The Sex Pistols and I also recognized the guy who just so happened to be the only person here with me.
Harry.
He had that stupid hat on his head as he bobbed his head to the music, mouthing along to the lyrics with a joint tucked behind his ear.
He looked like a real douche, standing with his back up against the side of his car acting as if he hadn't noticed I was standing right there a few feet away.
Well this is awkward.
I glanced down towards my crossbody satchel, shoving my hand inside to retrieve my small little MP3 player with my headphones wrapped around it. I never go anywhere without it, in my eyes music is what makes the world go round.
You can be in any situation and music can set the mood.
Sex? Music.
Car ride? Music.
Home alone? Music blasting.
Awkward encounters with asshole skater boys? Music.
I placed my headphones on my head immediately cancelling the noise and loud music around me, pursing my lips to the side as I shuffled through my playlist.
