*Our Beautiful Zayev*
(Nikolai's Wolf)

Nikolai's POV
(Going back a little bit)

The warm breeze blows through my fur as I lie here in the grassy clearing. Today was busy with all of the paperwork that I had to do and I just desperately needed an escape.

Aparently, the Moon Goddess had other plans for me, though.

> Alpha, one of the new humans that moved here is wobbling around in the middle of the turnpike. < I heard through the pack link. I sighed in frustration. This is why we've kept humans away and have only allowed pack members to live here! Humans bring nothing but trouble.

> Thank you. It will be taken care of. Landon, go pick him up in the patrol car and bring him back to the police station.< I responded, then stood up. Landon is my Beta, or in other words, he is my second in command. I sprinted toward the police station and when I reached it a few minutes later I ran right through the doors in wolf form. I walked with my shoulders back and head high passed the rest of the workers in here. They all nodded at me in hello before I made my way to my office. Luckily, I keep an outfit in my office for moments like these. I shift back quickly and change into my clothes.

I walk out of my office and faintly smell an intoxicating scent of a mixture between honey and roses. I follow it curiously and find myself standing outside of Interrogation Room #1.

I open the door and immediately gasp.

> Mate < Zayev growled, causing me to fall against the wall for support.

The most beautiful blue-gray eyes looked over in my direction almost as if waiting for me to go over to him. I took a deep breath before walking over to the table casually.

"Bentley Saros? Hello, I'm Officer Nikolai Blue." I introduced myself. He shivered at the sound of my voice, which had my wolf pacing in excitement.

> Calm down Zayev. I don't want to scare him. < I told my wolf, hoping for him to settle down. He whined, but lied down anyways.

"Hello, Officer. I would like to explain why I'm here." My mate responded. His angelic voice was enough to make my knees wobble and my throat clench. I sat down before my knees could give out on me and the chair squeaked from my weight.

"Yes, I would like to know why you were obstructing traffic. Are you drunk, Mr. Saros?" I asked, though I knew that he wasn't. I couldn't smell anything on him beside Roses, Honey, and seafood.

"No, I've never even drank alcohol before! I was in the traffic because some guy threw me there! I know it sounds crazy, but he took my from my brother's car and then tossed me into the road!" He defended. His story sounded ridiculous and I was afraid that my little Mate was lying to me.

"Oh, I see. Well how did he take you from your brother's car?" I asked, trying to incorporate humor in my words rather than an agitated tone from being lied to.

"Well I opened the door and he threw me on the ground and kicked me in the shoulder." He answered.

"Why did you open the door for a stranger?" I asked, scared for his safety. If he opens doors for strangers then that means he's reckless with his safety. If that's the case, then who knows if this will be a one time thing or a reoccurring incident?

"I didn't know he was a stranger." He answered. I laughed as if what I had heard was the funniest thing in the world. Is my little Mate really thinking that this crazy story will sound real to me?

"How do you not know if someone is a stranger or not, Mr. Saros?" I asked, once I finally calmed down.

"I couldn't see him. I'm blind." He muttered. I shut up immediately and Zayev stood up with a whimper. Our baby can't see?
