March 20th 2008 Somewhere Above The Ocean
"Can you slow down?"
Tony raced down the wide roads, pedal floored the whole journey, a smile plastered on his face. He laughed, moving up a gear, "Oh, yeah?"
She sat back in her seat, arms folded over her chest. The car accelerated. Faster, faster. The engine roared and the rocks around the road blurred.
"Fuck, Dad, slow down!" she snapped.
He slammed on the brakes, so hard it threw her forward in her seat, then he swerved left, pulling off the road and into the airport. He skidded across the wet tarmac and finally pulled to a stop. Aria threw the door open and got out as quick as she could, as Happy pulled up beside them.
"Oh, come on, Ari," he laughed, "Blame Happy, he's good, he put up a race."
She ignored him and walked up to the stairs to the jet, where Rhodey stood frowning. "Hey, Rhodey," she gave him a hug and he dropped a kiss on her cheek, "Sorry, we're late."
He rolled his eyes, "I know who to blame don't you worry."
He looked past her, to Tony, who grinned as he climbed the steps, "What?"
"Three hours."
"I got caught doing a piece for Vanity Fair." Aria rolled her eyes and walked onto the jet, "She's in a sulk, she's not speaking to me."
"For three hours. For three hours you got me standing here."
Tony walked past him, onto the jet, "Waiting on you now. Let's go. Come on. Wheels up! Rock and roll!"
Fifteen minutes later they were in the sky, cruising, the two men sat across from each other at the table, as Aria flicked through a magazine on the sofa.
