CHAPTER 30

CHAPTER 27 //FOUR YEARS AFTER//

"Ms. Queyn,  Someone's looking for you." my secretary inform me using the intercom. I looked at the monitor connected from the outside of my office. I then smiled when a picture of person appears on it.

"sige papasukin mo na. " napabuntong hininga ako at isinantabi ang mga papeles na syang kasalukuyan kong pinipirmahan.

"sige po." she obliged, then hang up the intercom.  A seconds later the door opens at iniluwa no'n si Reshel. Agad na sumilay ang ngiti sa aking labi ng makita kung sino ang kasama nito. 

"mommmyyyyyy!" masayang sigaw ng matinis na boses at nagmamadaling bumaba mula sa pagkakabuhat sa kaniya at maliliit ang mga hakbang na tumakbo ito papalapit sa akin.

I just chuckled when she immediately hug my lap at inilahad sa harapan ko ang mga kamay nito, indikasyon na gusto niyang magpabuhat na siya namang agad kong ginawa. 

"i miss you mommy! " aniya at agad akong binigyan ng matunog na halik sa pisngi.

"i miss you more,  baby! " i response and kiss her forehead.  "by the way,  where's your momma?"  i asked pertaining to my mom. She called it momma instead of lola 'gaya ng sinabi ni mommy na itawag sa kaniya.

"momma told me that she's going somewhere so she asked tita Reshel to accompany me here. Well, i have no idea where she is, mommy." she explained with her english accent.  Napailing na lamang ako sa paraan ng pananalita ng anak ko at sa sinabi nito. Akala ko si mommy ang kasama niyang pupunta ngayon dito gaya ng sinabi niya kanina before i got to work.

" Is that so? " napatingin ako kay Reshel ng nagtatanong na tingin, subalit napakibit-balikat lamang ito.

"Hindi ko din po alam, ate. Basta inutusan niya na lang po akong samahan si Luxelle matapos niya pong makatanggap ng tawag sa kung sino man. "

Napabuntong hininga na lamang ako at hindi na inisip kung nasaan si mama.  Maybe she has an urgent appointment na wala sa scheds niya.

"mommy, are you still busy? " my daughter asked as she poked my hand.

I smiled then gently pinch her cheeks. "mommy is not busy, baby." i denied. Actually, i am really busy at work and have a lot of things to do. But, i can set aside those works i have, just for my daughter.  I dont want her to feel that i don't have time for her. She's my priorities, she's more important than any things.

"why'd you ask?" dagdag na tanong ko pa dito.

"Really?  Then why is this papers seems like asking your signatures mommy? " napataas ang kilay ko ng makitang binuklat nito ang mga itinabi kong papeles na hindi ko pa napipirmahan. I heard Reshel's chuckle so i diverted my gaze at her.  She's now comfortably sitting at the couch. She's reading some business features magazines, pero baliktad.

Inalis ko ang atensyon ko doon at bumaling sa anak ko.  "Yeah, mommy's busy.. but i can do that the other day so it's okay with me if we go shopping this time. " nakangiti kong usal para kumbinsihin siya. I know she wanted to go to mall kaya siya nagtatanong kung busy ako.

"really?" i saw her eyes twinkle in excitement.  See?  Thats what she wanted.

"Yes.. you want that? "

"of course, mommy! " she exclaimed in delight, then suddenly kissed me again at my cheeks.

Napailing na lamang ako ng mabilis siyang bumaba sa pagkakakandong sa akin at dali daling pumunta kay Reshel. Agad naman na akong tumayo at kinuha ang white sling bag ko sa couch. Sandaling napatingin ako sa salamin sa aking office upang i-check ang aking sarili.
