Chapter 23

"Hey dad, what time are we going to Mom's?" I asked coming downstairs with my bags packed. "Good lord child you're only going for the weekend." My dad said. "Umm well I have my camera and laptop and stuff in this bag and then clothes and other stuff like make up in this bag." I said. "Oh well we are fixing to leave so come on." He said. I grabbed my phone and sunglasses and put my shoes on and was out the door.

"Dad where are the babies bags?" I asked as he backed out of the driveway. "They're not staying with your mom tonight." He said. "Why not?" I asked. "She told me just to bring you so I'm just being you. No need to start another argument." He said. "True but little does she know that Jack and I are going out tonight." I said. "Really? Where are you two going?" He asked. "I don't know. All he said was he was going to make me feel like a princess. Which I already am one so you know." I said with a hair flip. "A sassy one at that. Okay we're here. I love you and be good okay?" He said. "Okay love you too" I said and got out with my bags.

"Hey mom." I said. "Hey baby girl. Dinners ready, are you hungry?" She asked. "A little." I said and went and sat down. "This is good." I said. "Thanks." She said. "So mom I need your help." I said. "With what?" "Well Jack is taking me out tonight and I don't know what to wear." I said. "Well I know you have some clothes here and then some in your bag." She said. "Yeah, I mean I don't want to have to dress like casual again because I have on like almost every other date. But then again I don't want to be too dressy." I said. "Ooh I know what to wear." I said. "I'll be right back."

I came back wearing a maroon and white baseball tee with high waisted shorts and my low top white converse and my hair in a messy pony tail. "Don't you look cute." My mom said. "Thanks. So he said he would be here at 5:30 and its 5 now so yeah." I said and got my phone. "So what did you do at your dad's this week?" She asked. "Umm nothing really. Homework, umm Jack and Camden spent the night one night, and we went to Matt's and Nash's again." I said. "That sounds cool. Are you and Jack still good" she asked. "Yeah pretty good. I mean we might argue over something so stupid but then we're fine again." I said. "Well that's good. I'm going to go get some work done so you can watch tv or hang in your room if you want." She said. "Okay" I said and headed to my room.

I laid down on my bed and Jack texted me.

Hamilton💖💖- on my way! You better not be dressed too fancy😂

Me-okay and trust me I'm not😂

Soon after our conversation ended Jack rang the doorbell. "Mom, Jack and I are leaving." I yelled. "Wait hold on." She said. "Come on" I mumbled. "I just wanted to give you a hug before you left" she said and gave me a hug. "Mom will you take our picture?" I asked. "Sure." She said. "Thanks. Okay we're out!" I said went out the door.

"So you up for ice cream?" Jack asked me. "Of course. Ice cream is like my life." I said. "Good because I was thinking ice cream and a movie." He said. "That sounds great!" I said.

"Is your ice cream good?" Jack asked. "Well yeah it's ice cream" I said and laughed. "So what movie are we going to see?" I asked. "American Sniper" he said. "Oh I've been wanting to see that. Isn't that the movie about the guy in war and he comes back to his family and like realized he can't leave the thoughts of war behind or something" I said eating my ice cream. "Yup. You ready?" He asked "Yes I am." I said and he took my hand and we went to the movie theater.

"Tonight was fun." I said looking at Jack as we stood in front of the front door. "You should come back with me." Jack said. "I would love to but tonight is the first night at my moms and I don't want to just leave her. Maybe you can stay here?" I said. "Yeah. That would be fine. Let me ask dad." he said. "Well come in. I have to ask mom again anyways." I walked in and saw mom cuddled up on the couch with some boy. No way! I am NOT ready for a step dad. "Hey mom?" I asked. "Oh yeah Audrey. This is Justin, my boyfriend." She said. "Boyfriend?! I mean you just got rid of dad. What's wrong with you. I'm not even gonna ask. Jacks staying over." I said and me and Jack went up to my room and cuddled.

"You know I bet he's not that bad. You just have to give him a chance." Jack said. "Yeah but he's not ever going to be my dad. I have one dad. One dad that I will always love more than the Justin dude downstairs." I said. "Yeah but just give him a chance and maybe you'll like him." Jack said. "I sure hope so." I said and opened up my snapchat. For some reason Jack was dancing to my music so I secretly decided to snap a video. "Jack!" I said in the middle of the video. "You little turd he said and kissed me and I ended it and put it on my story. Then I posted our picture.

"Ewwww it's raining!" I said. "Uh rain is fun. Rain means more cuddles and more movies." He said kissed my cheek. "Rain mean more time with Jack" I said with a smile. "I'm going to put pajamas on. And then I'm going to go downstairs and watch a movie okay?" I said. "Okay sassy." Jack said. I changed into one of Jacks hoodie and sweats. I put my hair in a messy bun, washed my face, took my contacts out, and put my glasses on. "Aww you look cute." Jack said. "No I look like a hobo." I said. "Come on let's go."

When we went downstairs I saw mom outside talking with her new "boyfriend" but I just brushed it off. I turned on pitch perfect and I got an apple and we laid down together on the couch. "Oh my I love this movie so much." I said laughing until my mom came in and gave me a look. "What's that look for?" I asked her. "It's because of the way you acted to towards Justin." My mom. "News Flash mom! I already have a dad and you bringing another man in my life isn't going to change to the whole divorce thing" I said. "Whatever I'm going to bed." She said and went in her room.

"Ugh I hate her so much." I said to Jack. "It'll be fine once you get used to all of this." He said. "Yeah I hope so." I said. "Good night I love you" I said and kissed Jack. "Good night I love you too." He said.
