New character again😁 Now, I know that the Ghost Rider should probably be Johnny Blaze or the Robbie Reyes character, but I decided to do something a little different and focus on Johnny's and Robbie's predecessor, Carter Slade, because, in my opinion, Sam Elliott is gorgeous and Nic Cage, not so much. Hope that you enjoy. 😄💀🐴

A brilliant shaft of light suddenly split the dark night sky. The heavens above opening, as it sent one of its own to the mortal realm. For when demons walk the land, angels are never far behind.

The earth trembled as a form hit it at speed. The dirt and dust rising in clouds, as the beauteous creature collided with the surface. Her giant pale wings shielding her from the debris. She had not set foot in the mortal realm for many years. Not since the demon Mephistopheles, had sent his bounty hunter to retrieve the contract of San Venganza. Not since she had helped the Rider flee from his master, so that the demon could not bring hell to earth. Not since she had fallen in love with the Rider.

They had both known that neither realm would allow the match. That she would not be allowed to remain with the mortals. To remain with him. Yet, before she had had to leave, she had loved him. Given him something that not many could claim to have every experienced. She had given him the love of angel. And he had given his love in return. The pair vowing to care for no other, until they could be reunited, in that world, or the next. But she had watched over him all this time. Made sure that he was safe. Protected from the eyes of the demons that wanted the contract. Though now, she had returned. Wickedness once again stalked the earth. The demon, Blackheart, and the Hidden fallen angels were seeking to control the thousand corrupt souls. Seeking the contract that had been hidden for so long. A new Rider calling her back to earth. Now, all she had to do was find the one that she had come to see. All she had to do, was find her Rider.

Rising to her feet, the angel looked around. The creature surprised by the changes in the land since she had last set foot in the world. The dark, towering, ramshackle buildings only lit by her ethereal presence. She had no real idea where she was. All that she knew was that the Riders were calling to her. That the demon's and the bounty hunters were causing an imbalance, and she was there to fix it.

Suddenly, the heavenly shaft of light vanished. Leaving its envoy alone. Her mighty wings disappearing as she turned to make her way out of the dark courtyard in which she found herself. Out into an unfamiliar world.

"Well, hello there, gorgeous. And what would something like you be doing around here? Got a little lost, did ya?" A chuckling voice called out. The angel turning to see a group of men. A group of men that she didn't need to be an angel to know, were up to no good. The otherworldly being smiling to herself as the men began to circle her.

"It is no wonder that a Ghost Rider once again walks this earth. I am sure that men like you will keep him busy. That sooner or later, his Penance stare will find and judge you. Judge you all. Now, let me pass, or feel his wrath." The angel replied, before making to push her way past the thugs. The man taking the white suit clad woman, by the arm. Holding her tight as the others moved to surround her.

"Oh, I don't think so. Ya see, ya on our patch. And whatever we find on our patch, is ours. Ain't that right boys?" The man told her. His grip tightening as he looked the woman up and down. His brows furrowing in confusion as she began to laugh.

"Your patch? So, you are trying to tell me that this pathetic little piece of barren, lifeless soil belongs to you?" The angel enquired. The man quickly letting go of her as she began to glow. He and the others stumbling backwards as the woman before them suddenly towered over them.

"I walked this earth long before you were even thought of and will walk it long after you are gone. I am the balancer. The watcher over the fallen. She who brings equilibrium back to the universe. And I will not be stopped from my mission by you, or anyone else. I will no longer allow your darkness to corrupt, to hurt, to mar this piece of earth." The angel bellowed. A bright light surrounding the men as her wings appeared. A golden sword forming in the palm of her hand as she glared down at the now prone, shaking mortals.

"You will be marked. The mark will call to the Rider. He will not be able to rest until he finds you, and your souls are seared with the pain that you have caused so many others. Now, be gone." The angel continued. Touching each man with the glistening blade before they scurried away like scalded dogs. The angel returning back to her previous form, and resuming her mission to find the Riders.

                                                       >>------------------------------------<<

"You, ok?" Johnny asked, as he watched the older man look out onto the dark graveyard outside the window.

"Ya, kid. Its just.........I was expecting someone to arrive. Someone that would know that you were here. That would already know that you had become the Rider. But.........maybe they won't send her. Maybe I'll never see her again." The caretaker sighed. His eyes never leaving the outside world, as he continued to desperately hope for a sight of her.

"How could someone know I was here? How could anyone know what happened." Johnny enquired. Looking on, as the pale haired man's shoulders slumped. The demon's new bounty hunter, hoping for a slightly better explanation.

"Look, kid. There is a fine balance in this world. A balance that cannot be allowed to alter. So, when demons and Riders walk the earth, someone has to come from the other side to balance things out............"

"The other side?" Johnny interrupted. The caretaker sighing again as he reluctantly left the window and joined Johnny at the table.

"Yeah, the other side. Ya know. The good guys. Wherever there are demons, there are angels. And I was hoping that when you came here, that they would send her." The caretaker explained. Johnny growing wide eyed at the thought that an angel might be after him. Like having a demon pull his strings wasn't bad enough.

"Who her? What's going on?" Johnny growled. Wishing that the old man would tell him what the hell was really going on, and stop being so cryptic.

"(Y/n) that's who. They call her, the watcher. The angel that watches over the fallen. Whenever a demon shows his ugly face, (Y/n) isn't far behind. She comes to balance out the forces, and along the way can mark wrongdoers with a sign. A sign that only a Rider can see. It calls to him. It calls for his Penance stare. Calls him to judge what she cannot. The last time I saw her, I was a young, foolish, greedy man. If it wasn't for her........well, lets just put it this way. Things around here, might be very different. I hoped that now you were here, she wouldn't be far behind. But perhaps this time..........." The caretaker told him. Pouring himself and Johnny another shot of scotch. His eyes focusing on the reflection in the glass in his hand. The old man's eyes widening, as he caught sight of a strange glow in the tumbler. A glow that could only be one thing.

Without warning, the caretaker jumped to his feet. The old man throwing open the door, before he raced out into the cemetery. His heart beating faster as he saw a form knelt in front of a grave.

"I see that it worked." A melodious voice said. The caretaker slowly moving forward, fearing that if he blinked, then the exquisite being might just disappear. That she might just be forced to leave him again.

"Yeah. I knew that it would, as soon as you told me to do it." The caretaker replied. A soft smile kissing his lips as the angelic being, rose to her feet and turned to face him.

"Hello, Carter. Still as handsome as the day I saw you last. A little older, and greyer, perhaps. But you are still my Rider." (Y/n) cooed, as she softly brushed her fingers through his pale hair. Carter's eyes happily closing as he savoured a touch that he never thought he would be lucky enough to feel again. His arms wrapping around her as he felt her move closer.

"You and I have matters to deal with. But for now, my love. Take me to this new Rider."
