You lay in bed staring up at the ceiling; tomorrow was Valentine's Day and once again you were dateless. Its not that you hadn't had your eye on someone for a while now but you were sure that he would never be interested in you; the only things he seemed to be interested in were causing as much mischief as possible and old books, but that was exactly what made you love him.
Loki Laufeyson was the most amazing man you had ever met; yes, he had done wrong, but he had made recompense for that; and now that he was part of the Avengers, he was beginning to show others a different side to himself. He was clever, witty, charming, with a wicked sense of humour, and the way he looked just made you weak at the knees; but as he had mentioned on more than one occasion he was not interested in Midgardians.
You groaned as you remembered that Tony would have the entire compound decked out in cutesy crap making you feel worse than you already did, but you determined that you would play along and smile through it, it was only one day after all.
As you woke the next morning you groaned loudly hoping that there would be some place other than your room that Tony wouldn't have had decorated but knowing Tony you seriously doubted it. As you turned onto your side your eyes slowly fluttered open, adjusting to the sunlight that peaked through your blinds; your eyes widened as you were greeted by a perfect single red rose that lay on the pillow next to you. In normal circumstances this would have been creepy, that someone had come into your room while you slept and left it there, but the bloom was so perfect that you couldn't help but be happy.
For once on Valentine's Day you were going to have a smile on your face.
The rose on the pillow proved to be just the first of the day; everywhere you went a rose seemed to appear, each as perfect as the last. You went to get your morning coffee, only to find a rose standing proudly in your cup; in the library a rose was used to mark your favourite Shakespeare sonnet in your book. After training you went to get your usual bath only to find that it had already been drawn for you and scattered with petals.
As you lay submerged in the hot water, you mussed over who your secret admirer could be; all the guys were wonderful, and you loved them all, but most of them were like big brothers. But whoever it was, after all the trouble they had been through to make you feel special, you couldn't help but love them, yet you still couldn't help but hope that it was someone in particular.
Making your way out of the bathroom you noticed another rose on your pillow, but instead of the usual red it was the most amazing black bloom, that seemed to change colour slightly as you turned it in your hand; attached to it was a note.
My dearest (Y/n).
You are truly one of a kind.
To find my heart, go to your locker in the training room.
Your Secret Admirer
Quickly changing, you sprint back down to the training room; standing in front of your locker you took a deep breath.
Hanging by a golden chain, a golden heart with a bright green emerald at its centre greeted you as you opened the door; slowly reaching up your hand you took the jewel in your palm, gently caressing the emerald with your thumb.
"Be my Valentine?"
A warm familiar voice asked from behind you. Your heart pounding violently in your chest you turned around slowly to find the man you secretly hoped it would be.
There stood Loki dressed in his Asgardian finery holding a huge bouquet of red and black roses.
"Lady (Y/n), after finding out about this strange Midgardian holiday, I thought it would be the best time to tell you how I felt. You have always been so kind, and your intelligence and beauty have drawn me to you since I met you. You have my heart and I was hoping that you would agree to be my Valentine for today and forever."
Before he could say anymore your lips were on his, the bouquet discarded on the floor as he pulled you into an embrace. As you pulled away from his lips you rested your forehead on his.
"Loki Laufeyson, I would love to be your Valentine."
He spun you around and took to chain from your hand, gently placing the jewel around your neck.
"I promise to make every day just as special as today my love." He said softly, before pulling you back into his arms and kissing you again.
Now you were happy that every day was going to be Valentine's Day.
