Loki sat back in his chair, waiting for the doctor to show up for their meeting. His wrists and ankles firmly manacled, and a power limiter around his neck. One of the conditions when Thor had brought Loki back to Midgard to serve out the rest of his sentence for his destruction of New York, was that he should speak with a doctor. A doctor that Thor had tried to assure was only there to help him. And even though Loki doubted that very much. Even though he had done all he could to dissuade, deter, and downright put this doctor off, all his efforts had annoyingly failed. Leaving the God of Mischief with his weekly visits. And after all this time it was a weekly visit that he had come to look forward to more than he thought possible. The doctor's visits becoming the highlight of his week. The thought of her beautiful face, always making his cold heart beat a little faster.
As the keys jangled in the lock, Loki sat up straight as the door to the room opened and the woman stepped in. No matter how bad his week had been, how often he had had to put up with Thor's insufferable chirpiness, or a visit from some gloating Midgardian, her smile would always make him feel better. And as she sat down in the chair across the table from him placing down her notepad and pen, he couldn't help but smile.
"Good morning Loki, and how are you today?" Oh, how the God loved that voice.
"Good morning Doctor (Y/l/n), I'm quite well thank you. Much better for seeing you." Loki cooed softly, chuckling slightly as that familiar pink hue that he loved so much, flushed her cheeks.
"Well, that's very good to know Loki. Now, can you tell me has anything changed since I saw you last? Have you given any thought to what we discussed last week?" She asked, as her fingers slowly flicking through her previous notes. Loki staying quiet for a moment, watching as she waited for his answer.
"Doctor, could I ask you a question?" He enquired, with a mischievous glint in his eye. His lips curled up into a small smile.
"Loki, I'm the one supposed to be asking you questions, you know that. But as long as you promise that the question is appropriate, then I suppose you can." (Y/n) replied happily, closing her notepad and placing it back on the table. Loki placing his elbows on the table and dropping his face into his cuffed hands. His smile broadening as he stared at the woman in front of him.
"Why do you work here? Why do talk to people like me?" He asked, watching her intently as she thought for a moment.
"Well, the work is interesting and varied, and there's never a dull moment, especially with you around. Also, I'm fond of my patients and I want to look after their welfare." The doctor told him, shaking her head as Loki leaned further across the table.
"So, you care about your patients? Even me?" The frost giant hummed. Not failing to notice how his heart had begun to pound violently in his chest, as she giggled softly at his question.
"Of course, I care about you Loki, I'm hurt that you might think I don't."
"But I'm a murderer (Y/n), I've done bad things. More bad things than you know." Loki told her, as he moved a little further forward.
"Loki, all of my patients have done bad things, that's why I talk to them. I try to help them discover why they have done those bad things, so that I can help them never to do it again. To help them heal." (Y/n) explained. The blood singing in her ears as Loki placed his fingertips on her hand.
"So, you don't mind being surrounded by murderers and psychopaths that might hurt you if they were given half a chance?" The master of deceit and trickery enquired. His eyes staring into (Y/n)'s, as she contemplated her answer.
"I don't think of my patients like that, it's not my job to judge. My job is to help as best I can. I only want what's best for my patients." (Y/n) explained, Loki smiling as he saw the look of sincerity in her eyes. A look of concern and care that he hadn't seen in the eyes of many others. Especially since he had done what he had done.
