New friends

Today was a normal day of high school. Heck. everyday was a normal day nothing abnormal ever happened. 

Y/n L/n pov:

"BEEP"  "BEEP" BEE---"

The annoying beeping of her alarm clock roused Y/n from her rest, much to her dismay, earning it as small 'shut up' from said girl as she raised her arm from the warmth of her blankets to kill the noise. 

"I hate mornings," she muttered to herself, as she successfully turned off the alarm, only to fall off the bed rather unceremoniously. 

Groaning all the while, cursing school for her misery,  the H/c girl got ready (begrudgingly)

'I cant believe it's been a year since they died' she thought as she walked, her mind lost in thought. 

"hey," a soft voice called out from somewhere behind her, although it went unnoticed by the h/c-ed girl. 

'I wonder if they still watch over me,' Y/n wondered, looking to the sky, pausing her movements as she did so. 

"Hey!" The voice shouted from behind her once more. 

'I wish that they were they every time I got home' 

"H-Hey," the voice said, grateful Y/n had stopped walking momentarily (allowing for her to catch up)

Finally snapped out of her thoughts Y/n looks to the White haired girl next to her. "Were you talking to me?" Y/n questioned. "Yes, and i have been for the past ten minutes. Do you go to dream academy?" the girl said. "yes, are you new? I can show you around if you'd like" y/n answered. "Yes, Thanks I really owe you my name is Yukino." Yukino beamed. "Oh I'm Y/n L/n, nice to meet you." Y/n said.

"This is the principals office, I'll wait out here for you." Y/n informed the white-haired girl, Yukino.

"Okay, thanks again" said girl gushed, clearly very happy to have a friend.

"don't mention it."

15 minutes later

"Hey, do you want to compare schedules?" yukino questioned.

"Sure" Y/n answered, unsure of the proper etiquette in this instance.

the two girls went through their schedules, whispering a small 'same' to each class they had together. 

"I'm so happy," Yukino chirped, "I get to have all of my classes with someone I know!" 

"Me too! I'm Glad I'll have a friend in my classes now." Y/n said with a smile.

the day went without a hitch, the two girls bonded  over the woes of life (aka the joys of calculus and physics). 

However, as all things go, good or bad, they must come to an end. Nothing too dramatic, just the end of the school day (a/n: lol). 

"Say Y/n do you believe in soulmates?" Yukino asked suddenly as the two girls walked home, the school becoming a faint background as they did so. 

"Soulmates?" she asked, a wave of curiosity coming over her.

"Yes, soulmates." Yukino confirmed, taking a small breath before continuing, "Where I'm from, when you reach a certain age you'll be able to talk to your soulmate in your dreams." she paused, making eye contact with her new found H/c-ed friend, "However you won't remember them when you wake up."

"Wha- how is that fair?? how would you find them then?" Y/n responded, a small bit of irritation coming over her at the absurdity of it all. 

'if you had a soulmate was it really fair for you to only be able to talk to them in your dreams, and then not remember them at all?!' the girl couldn't help but wonder. 

"I don't know," Yukino answered, a strange glint dancing in her eyes as she opened her mouth to speak once more, "-"

"-Oh well this is me. see you later Yukino." Y/n cut her off, unintentionally, as she waved to her newfound friend with a smile, making her way her home.
