I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Draco had fixed his body outside of the bars. Holding onto the railing with shaking hands. His eyes closed as if he were only sleeping.

My chest was heaving quickly with unsteady breaths.

"Draco!" I yelled.

He opened his eyes calmly.

They looked glossy and wet.

"W-what are you doing?!" I asked panicked.

All he did was shake his head in response as tears rolled down his cheeks.

I ran to get closer to him, "Please. Draco please don't." I stammered, "Just- just come back over and we can talk."

Still, no response.

I gripped his wrists with my hands, doing everything I could to keep him from letting go.

They are so... cold.

My eyes filled with tears as he looked at me.

He seemed to wince at my touch. Like it was painful perhaps.

"You don't understand Savanna." he said, voice breaking.

I sobbed, "Help me understand. Please. Tell me. Please."

Lip quivering, "Lift up my left sleeve." he said.

I rolled up his sleeve slowly, revealing.. scratch marks.

I rolled it up further and saw it.

Dark mark.

Voldemort's mark.

Deep scratch marks and blood covered it to where it was hard to completely see it.

He had scratched himself right there. Aggressively, probably after it appeared.

I sobbed again, seeing him like this.

He cried harder now, "I want it to just go away."

I cupped the side of his face in my palm and wiped the uncontrollable tears that were running down his face. Even though I couldn't contain myself.

Draco is a death eater.

One of Voldemort's followers.

Voldemort... who wants to kill Harry.

"I'm so sorry. But I need you to come back over okay? Everything is gonna be okay." I say.

He shook his head again, "What's that gonna change?"

He broke eye contact with me and looked down at what was beneath him.

Draco Malfoy pov:

I stood there not willing to climb back over. Trying not to make eye contact with her.

I closed my eyes again, trying to stop the tears from flooding them.

Until I heard her voice even closer to me.

Too close.

She was on the outside with me now. I panicked.

The wind brew through her hair. She looked so beautiful even while she was crying.

"If you jump, I jump too." she cried.

She's crazy. And i'm insane.

"For you... I would." she choked.

Her voice, I missed it.

She really cared about me. She cared about how I felt.

No. No. No. No.

She will not die because of me.

She can't.

I grabbed her hand and we climbed back over together.

For the first time in my life, she held me.

Savanna Holcombe pov:

Draco collapsed into my arms when we came back over.

I sat on the ground, his head resting against my chest.

He was uncontrollably choking up sobs.

He shook in my arms.

I couldn't help but cry with him.

"I'm so sorry." he weeped.

"For what?"

"For everything I did. I'm sorry I hurt you. No one's listening to me. I was using you for your body at first. But- but then I realized that I loved you. And when I told you I loved you I meant it. I'll always mean it Savanna." he stuttered on the last sentence.

"Draco I-"

"Please forgive me. I love you. I'll never stop loving you." he said.

I looked into his eyes, and I could tell what he was saying was true.

I didn't want to believe him, but it was too difficult.

My love for him never left. It was permanent. Something that would never go away no matter how much I tried to let it go.

"I- I forgive you." I say.

He laughed for a second out of joy, but then continued crying.

I ran my fingers through his hair, trying to calm him down.

Draco sat himself up and looked directly at me, and without thinking, I kissed him.
