"You free?" Dan asked as he peeked into my room.

"Yeah." I nodded, closing my laptop. "What's up?"

"Nothing." I gave him a sceptical look. "What? Can't a guy just want to spend some time with his little sister?"

"Not so little anymore." I pointed out, folding my legs to sit Indian style so as to give him space.

"Princess, you'll always be little in my eyes, even when you're eighty and withering," he smirked.

"Jerk." I rolled my eyes at him as he sat down, smirking.

"How's Emily? Haven't seen her around." he asked.

"She's fine, just feels a little weird coming to visit you because of Jennifer."

"Then tell her that I am not mad at her." he suggested.

"Already done that."

He nodded and then fell silent.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I broke the silence.

He nodded once again.

"If given the chance, would you-" I took a deep breath, "would you give Jenny another chance at friendship? I mean not now but maybe after a year?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Are we talking about me forgiving Jennifer or you forgiving Mason?"

I shrugged. I had been thinking about Mason, not in a romantic way. God knows I've my hands full on that one with a certain boy with blue eyes. But I had been thinking of giving Mason at least a chance to explain himself.

"Well if it's about me and Jenny, then I don't know. The wound's still fresh." He stated.

"But if it's about me?" I prompted.

"Then I think that you should give him a chance." I stared at him as he continued, "Look, I'm not saying that you should forgive him but atleast hear the guy out. I didn't like him, still don't. But being ignored by you isn't a good feeling. So let him explain the 'why' part and then you can decide what to do."

He was right. Giving him a chance to explain would at the very least provide me the answer as well as the closure. The 'why' part as Dan called it, had been on my mind for a long time now.

I sighed, "You're right. I should."

"Call him, tell him to meet you at a coffee shop or something, Delphi's even if that makes you comfortable. But don't do this at school."

I frowned, "Why not?"

"Because you idiot-" he flicked my forehead, "if you don't like the explanation, then you won't be able to avoid him. In a bistro, you can just always get up and leave."

I nodded, right again! "Come with me then." I suggested.

"Oh no." he shook his head. "I would just give him a black eye if I saw him."

"Bloody hypocrite." I narrowed my eyes at him. "Whatever happened, happened to me."

"And? Didn't you just give Jennifer a verbal smackdown not even two days ago?" he raised an eyebrow at me. "And we both know the only reason it was verbal is because she is Em's sister. Otherwise she would have returned to University in a matchbox."

I shrugged. True enough. I only held back from throwing actual punches at Jennifer because she was my best friend's sister.

"Okay, point taken. How about this, you come with me while I talk to him but sit at a different table? I will also introduce you to a new friend I made, she works there."
