"Get up."

Nuh uh.

"Come on!"

Nope.

"Victoria Isabelle Parker, get off your ass or so help me god, I will-"

"I'm up, I'm up." I sit up with a start causing my brother to jump in shock.

I look around to the clock on my side table. "Are you kidding me? It's eight in the freaking morning of the last day of summer and you woke me up, why?" I raised an eyebrow at the five year old stuck in the body of a nineteen year old.

"Because my darling sister, I am flying out for Uni tonight and I wanted to hang out with you."

"Fine, give me twenty minutes." I pushed him out of my room.

"I will be downstairs." He hollered as I heard his footstep thud on the stairs.

I plucked my phone out and saw a few texts from Em which I very promptly replied telling her the day plans. Pulling my hair into a bun, I quickly freshened up. Stepping into my closet after shower, I settled for denim shorts and a black top with converse. Before leaving my room, I pocketed my phone and wallet. Though knowing my brother, he would pay for everything.

I slid down the railing of the stairs and into the kitchen where mom was smiling at something my brother said and dad was going through his morning news.

"Morning Mom, morning Dad" I greeted them with a kiss on the check as I slid into the stool beside my br- wait a second I forgot to introduce my family, didn't I? Oops, anyways let's get the introduction done first.

Hi, I am Victoria Isabelle Parker. I am a seventeen year old and a senior this year. My brother Daniel Henry Parker is a nineteen year old goof. He is a football player but don't let the brawn fool you. The kid has got brains as well after all he will be attending Stanford University starting tomorrow. My mom, Cassandra Parker is a woman who could really be mistaken as my elder sister. The lady is a huge foodie and yet somehow still manages to look like a supermodel. Moving on, Dad or as his passport says, William Parker is a man to behold. A self made man, my dad owns a law firm which he manages alongside mom.

Yep, both my parents are lawyers. Imagine the fights; yeah Dan and I rarely win.

"Morning Sleeping Beauty!" Dad grinned "How is it that you are awake before ten on a weekend?"

"Blame Dan, I was dreaming peacefully about chocolate waffles." I huffed poking the said boy's shoulder.

"Goodness! Stop poking me. I will take you out for breakfast at Gigi's. Now move it." Dan swatted my fingers away.

"Sir yes sir!" I mock saluted him.

The drive to the bistro was- well it was as usual, we were bickering about anything and everything.

Dan pulled into one of the free parking spots. As we both got inside, I was hit with the delicious smell of waffles. We ordered our usual, which consisted of waffles and coffee, and walked back to a booth.

"So Vic, any specific plans for this year?" Dan asked as he cut his waffles.

"Avoid him, keep up the grades, kick ass in tournaments, avoid him, oh and did I mention avoid him." I listed off the tasks smirking at my brother dearest.

Daniel rolled his eyes. "You could give Mason a chance to explain you know."

"I did, last year. This year I am done. He can keep his stupid explanation to himself." I bit out. It wasn't Daniel's fault but the topic was still a sore one. "Anyways moving on, what do you plan to do? Anyone catch your eye?"

"Nope, all are the same. I know it may sound weird but I am looking for something permanent now." He shrugged.

"It's not weird at all. It's actually amazing. I hope you find someone perfect for you." I smiled at Daniel.

After that we chatted for a bit, paid for the food and headed to our tree house.

We spent the day together enjoying the presence of the closest member of the family.

Dan and I were born two years apart, so we were pretty close. Sure we bickered and fought but hey all siblings do. He was always there for me. And so was I. When we were young, Mom used to break our fights by scolding one of us, but the other one would always end up defending the one being scolded. So now whenever we fight, Mom doesn't even blink an eye.

Well I don't know about you, but I call that progress.

"I have news

"I have news." A chirpy voice called out behind me as I opened my locker.

"Good or bad?" I asked turning around to face my best friend.

Let me introduce my best friend. Emily Frost, the one girl who has been with me through thick and thin. Seventeen years old, she is the kind of girl who you could throw at the wolves and she would come back leading the pack.

Fun fact, people usually assume that we are sisters. Same height, caramel hair, similar complexion. The only difference is our eye color, while hers are hazel, I have green eyes.

"Depends on how you take it." She shrugged.

"Meaning?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Nick's back." She sighed.

"Excuse me?! You're kidding, please tell me you're kidding." Yes that's it, she must be. A girl could only hope.

"Nope." She shook her head. Well there goes my hope.

"For once, just once, why can't we have a normal year." I groaned and slammed the locker shut. I know it wasn't the locker's fault but hey, it's not like I can hit the actual person.

Em patted my shoulders sympathetically. "I know, Vic, I know."

Damn it, just what I needed. I had to avoid Mason and now add Nick freaking King to the list. This year is going to be a long one.
