We had been searching for Demetrius Austers and Ivan Rodriguez for the last few days. Sometimes alone and the other times we met up at one of our homes. We pretty much had an outline of Monica's family tree.

Though there were times we had to skip articles because of the gruesome reports they had. Our parents weren't kidding. These guys were ruthless. The number of accusations had decreased exponentially during Demetrius' time but there were a few whispers about his family every once in a while. It seemed he was better than his whole family. The only cries of outrage against him were directed at him due to his last name and never due to something he did. We also found that he had been about six years older than Monica. Later he married a woman much closer to his age with a gap of only a year. He had two daughters and a third on the way.

Ivan on the other hand was a whole other case. We found that he married a mistress of his a couple of months after Monica ran away and claimed the illegitimate son he had with her as his heir. There were speculations that he had killed his previous wife, Monica's mother, as revenge for the humiliation and loss of face Mia caused him when she ran away. But these were stomped on due to lack of evidence. There were many other accusations pointed at him and the number of charges were quite high.

Nick almost had another existential crisis breakdown after reading about Ivan's follies and we had to take a break for the day. Nate and Em returned home while Nick and I holed up in my room, eating ice-cream and watching movies. And I had to deal with the goddamn butterflies that come alive whenever I am in contact with the blue eyed devil.

On a personal level, I have been trying to subdue the feeling but they just won't go away. And it is very inconvenient cause they make me blush and turn in a mess whenever he compliments me or holds my hand or puts his hand around my shoulders or does anything remotely nice. The forehead kisses have also become a common thing for whenever he feels like it. Those tend to make me feel all tingling and disoriented for a few minutes. Thankfully my sass is still intact so I do not become a blubbering idiot in front of him.

Nate and Em have gotten close too. Emily seems to have taken my advice and she was allowing Nate in. And I was glad, the girl deserves nothing but the best.

"Okay. I am bored. Why are our lives so boring?" Em slammed her tray on the table as she sat down next to me at lunch. Thankfully everyone was busy with their own gossip to pay us any attention.

Nick, Nate and I shared an amused look.

"Since when are our lives not happening?" I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Oh not like that." she waved her hand at me. "I meant, we are teenagers in highschool and there's no bloody highschool drama."

"That might be because we are too busy handling life dramas to pay attention to the petty highschool ones." Nate grinned as Nick and I raised our glasses in agreement.

"Oh shut up. At least we could go out." she looked at me with a hopeful expression. I shrugged.

"Where do you want to go?" Nate asked.

"Anywhere is fine with me." Em shrugged, biting on her sandwich.

"Nowhere far though. We have a match tomorrow." Nick said.

"Well, we could go to Delphi's and get ice-cream and just hang out. That way your wish of going somewhere would be fulfilled and we wouldn't be going anywhere far." I suggested.

"Great idea." Em clapped her hands together.

The rest of lunch passed by as usual. As the bell rang and we got up I told the others, "I have practice today. There's a tournament coming up."
