Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2x18

Killed by Death Part 1

~

Aurora POV

It was night, Buffy and I pulled ourselves up onto the perimeter wall. We coughed as we pulled our legs over, jumped and hit the ground. We stumbled as we tried to keep our balance as I could feel the world spinning for a moment before it went away. I tried to breathe through my mouth as my nose was so stuffed up. Buffy and I sniffed every so often. I pulled out the stakes and handed one to Buffy as Buffy moaned as she put her hand on her forehead. We headed our way through the graveyard. I sensed something tried to concentrate while we slowly approached a small mausoleum. We raised our stakes and jumped around the corner, swung it to strike at whatever was there. Xander screamed and jumped back. Cordelia's equally loud scream from behind him. Willow, Kate, Rebekah, Jeremy and Kyra were there as well.

"Non-vampire," I said.

"Plus seven," Buffy added.

"Hi," Willow sternly said as she put her cross away.

They all stepped out in the open.

"Man, girls! My whole life just flashed before my eyes!" Xander exclaimed as he glanced over at the girls. "I gotta get me a life!"

"What are you doing here?" I asked them.

"What are you two doing here?" Kate asked us.

"Well, we're patrolling!" Buffy told them.

"Girls, you're sick," Kyra said with concern.

"No, we feel fine. I mean, I'm... the world's spinning a little, but I like it. It's kinda like a ride," Buffy replied.

"Half the school's out with this flu," Cordelia pointed out. "It's a serious deal. We're all concerned about you two look."

"We're touched. Really, but we have work to do," I said with sarcasm.

"Girls, come on, one night of rest is not gonna kill you," Rebekah voiced.

"No, but it might kill somebody else," Buffy stated.

"You mean Angel might," Jeremy said as he pointed his stake at us. "Aurora, this is not the time to challenge Angel for the ultimate fighting championship." He gestured with his stake. "He's at full strength, and you're only half a Slayer and charmed one."

"Yeah, but I'm still the Slayer and charmed one," I told him. "And as long as I am, Angel's not gonna kill anybody else."

"Aw, c'mon," Angelus said as he came up behind us. "Just one more." Buffy and I turned to face him.

He attacked as Cordelia and Willow screamed. He ran right past us straight for Cordelia and tackled her to the ground. Buffy grabbed him but was knocked away. I grabbed him by the back of his coat and pulled him off of her. I turned him around, took him by the coat collar and swung at him with my stake. He blocked me with his arm, grabbed mine and made me drop my stake.

"Not feeling well, lover?" Angelus voiced.

I looked at him and punched him in the jaw. He glared back at me and tried to kick me, but I grabbed his foot and shoved his leg up, making him fall to the ground.

"That helps," I muttered.

Angelus scrambled to all fours. I came at him from behind and tried to kick him, but he kicked out with his leg into my chest. I staggered back until I regained my balance. He got back up and came at me. I took a couple of swings at him, but he evaded them. He blocked the third swing, grabbed my arm and took me by the throat.
