Go Fish Part 2

Time Skip

It was a new day. When we got to school, we met up with the girls of our gang before heading to the pool to watch the swim team train as we talked.

"Swimmers!" The swim coach said. "Take position!"

We watched as six members of the swim team were on their blocks about to start their heat. The swim team bent down and got ready to dive. The coach blew his whistle, and they were off. We watched as the coach walked along the edge of the pool and past the stands as they swam. The girls and I watched from the stands as Gage stopped in the middle of the pool, stood and lifted his goggles off.

"Keep the stroking up. Alright. Keep it going," The coach told the team. "Keep it, going all the way to the end. All the way to the end. Breath deep."

Gage looked over at us and waved as the coach blew his whistle. At the corner of my eye, I saw Buffy discreetly wave back at him. I noticed that Willow and Kyra noticed that Buffy had waved back. Willow, Kyra and I gave her a smile before Buffy looked back at us with a smile.

"Gage! You with us or not?" The coach yelled as Gage put his goggles back on and swam off. "C'mon, let's go!"

"So, he spit it out?" Cordelia said as we went back to our conversation. "I thought Angel liked blood."

"He used to," Buffy replied.

"Maybe his eyes were too big for his stomach," Willow voiced.

"Or maybe there was something in Gage's blood that Angel didn't like," I stated. "Say, for example, steroids."

"That would explain all their behavioural changes," Kate responded.

"And their winning streak," Rebekah added.

"So maybe whatever's in their blood is what's attracting this creature to them," Kyra suggested.

"Any luck researching our fish monster?" Buffy asked.

"Zippo. We couldn't find the sea demon that matched the description that Xander gave us or the sketch that Aurora drew," Rebekah answered.

"Not that Chicken Little's much of a witness, but..." Cordelia responded but paused for a second as something caught her eye. "Oh." 

Kate, Kyra, Buffy, Rebekah and I turned our heads went into shock at what we just saw.

"Oh, my! Now, that, girls, is my kind of..." Cordelia continued.

"Xander?" Willow said as she stared at him in shock.

"Xander?!" Cordelia repeated in shock as she saw that it was her boyfriend.

We watched as Xander scrambled over to a pile of kickboards when he heard Cordelia and Willow's voice before grabbing one and hiding behind it. We grabbed our bags before getting up and heading down the stands.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Cordelia asked him as he scrambled over to us.

"Shh! I'm undercover," Xander whispered.

"Not under much," Buffy returned with a grin.

"Get out of here before someone sees you, impersonating a member of the swim team!" Cordelia voiced.

"I don't do impersonations. I tried out for the team last night," Xander told us. "I made it."

"Really?" Cordelia responded as I could tell she was intrigued.
