It had been three months with no word from the Power Broker. She had been totally silent and that was a scary thing for Lyra and the others because it meant they were planning something big. At least, that is what the young woman, whom they now knew was named Maya, had told them. She was rehabilitating in the compound and had become a friend to the others over time. Lyra was still keeping her distance but Bucky had really wanted to help the younger woman. After all her knew what it felt like to be someone's puppet.

Lyra was doing well with the pregnancy so far, but the mood swings were not great. One day she was completely happy and over the moon in love with Bucky. She couldn't keep her hands off of him and wanted to just melt into his touch at all times but then there were days where she absolutely hated him.

"You like her don't you?" She asked as she sat straight up in their bed one morning and glared daggers at him.

"Who?" He asked sleepily as he sat up and wiped eyes while looking at her confused.

"Maya, that girl that nearly killed you. It's because she's younger right and not old and used like me? She isn't getting fatter every day like I am right?" She was spiraling into herself again.

"Lyra stop." He grabbed her and held her tight to him. "You know I love you and no one else. You know that I am so attracted to you, ESPECIALLY, now that you are carrying my child. Baby I can't get enough of  you ever and I only think of Maya like one of my kid sisters."

"It's just...It's just... ahhh" she began to sobbed into his shoulder. "I just feel like well a cow, and I know I'm barely showing and I know that you really love me it's just been so hard James. This baby and not being home. I miss Texas. I miss my friends, my life, hell, even my job."

"I know sweetheart. I know, this is all so crazy and I know this baby isn't easy. I mean it is half me after all. Ha, but I'm here. I'm your home now and Erik is here too and your sister and to a much lesser extent Sam is here and we will take care of you and get you whatever you and our baby need." He kissed the top of her head and held her while she cried.

This had been happening off and on for a few weeks now. Banner told her it was her hormones and he was trying several different types of prenatal medicines to combat these sudden shifts but to no avail. This pregnancy was much harder than Erik's had been because of it.

The morning sickness was another issue they had faced. When she reach midway through month 3 of her pregnancy almost no foods were good enough. She would crave something like a chili dog with sauerkraut and pickles smothered in mustard one minute then beg for a trashcan or run to the toilet within a few minutes of eating it. She had to go on fluids after a week of this. Banner, Sam, and most of all Bucky were running ragged trying to take care of her and figure out who the Power Broker was and how to stop her.

Daisy had her hands full with Erik. Everyone worried he would feel like he was being replaced by the new baby so when Lyra wasn't feeling ill she was spending as much time as she could with him. But Erik wasn't worried so much about the baby he wanted to be strong like Bucky and his mother. Now that he knew his great grandfather was Steve Rogers, he wanted to activate his powers and was constantly begging everyone to help him do it.

When she could Lyra would train with Bucky, Sam and Daisy. She and Daisy took turns learning new moves from the guys and then practicing on each other and when Lyra needed to be pushed harder she would practice on Bucky.

"Okay doll, I'm going to run at you and try to take out your legs try that move Sam showed you." Bucky said as he heaved a sigh. He knew if she actually did the move right it was going to hurt him but he wanted her to because it meant she was getting better.
