"Okay, hold this. One, two, three, four." Amy pressed pause on the remote just as the tape loop returns to the start.
The image turns to static just as The Doctor and River burst in, and the monitor finally turns off.
"I froze it. There was a sort of blip on the tape and I froze it on the blip. It wasn't the image of an Angel anymore. That was good, yeah? It was, wasn't it? That was pretty good."
"That was amazing." River smiles at the ecstatic Amy. Her eyes shift over to Rowan that looks around as if she just had come out of a dream.
"River, hug Amy and Rowan." The Doctor instructs.
"Why?" Amy questions.
"Because I'm busy." His eyes shift over to Rowan, and for a moment he thinks about changing his decision.
"We're fine, right, Rowan?"
"Yeah, yeah, we are perfectly fine." Rowan tries to reassure them, but everyone can hear her wavery voice.
River puts an arm around her and looks at Amy. "You're brilliant."
"Thanks. Yeah, I kind of creamed it, didn't I?"
River still has her arm around Rowan as she turns to The Doctor. "So it was here? That was the Angel?"
"That was a projection of the Angel. It's reaching out, getting a good look at us. It's no longer dormant." Just as he finished his explanation, there is an explosion outside.
"Doctor? We're through." Octavian screams.
"Okay, now it starts." The Doctor walks out.
River takes her arm off Rowan and follows The Doctor. "Coming?"
"Yeah, coming." Amy follows her out the door.
"Yeah, there's just something in my eye," Rowan mumbles. She rubs her eye and for a moment she thinks she's got sand in her hand, but then laughs it off and follows her sister and the bowtie-wearing alien.
~Entrance chamber~
Everyone is climbing down a rope ladder into a very large underground space.
"Do we have a gravity globe?" The Doctor questions.
"Grav globe." One of the clerics hands it to him.
"Where are we? What is this?" Amy questions while her sister is admiring the beautiful structures.
"It's an Aplan Mortarium, sometimes called a Maze of the Dead." River explains and smiles at the engrossed girl.
"What's that?" Amy questions again.
"Well, if you happen to be a creature of living stone" The Doctor kicks the globe into the air, where it illuminates a vast array of mausoleums and statuary. "The perfect hiding place."
"I guess this makes it a bit trickier."
"A bit, yeah." The Doctor says full of sarcasm.
"A stone Angel on the loose amongst stone statues. A lot harder than I'd prayed for." Octavian says and earns himself a look from Rowan.
"A needle in a haystack." River sums it up perfectly.
"A needle that looks like hay. A hay-like needle of death. A hay-alike needle of death in a haystack of, er, statues." The Doctor tries to change it. "No, yours was fine." But gives up.
"Right. Check every single statue in this chamber. You know what you're looking for. Complete visual inspection. One question. How do we fight it?" Octavian asks.
